Well, I remember that last rep run that I did was that we cleared everything in the first room without springing any traps, and then once we cleared that room…we tried to spring a trap so we can take out the huge skellies, but for 5 whole minutes…we spent running around the first room and could not find/spring any traps. So we decided to move on to the next room and do the LoS trash. We did spring a trap there and the healers couldn’t keep up so we lost a tank (or two)…while the rest of us retreated, we sprung both traps in the first room! The skellies were in lockstep with each other and we couldn’t pull one without the other. I suggested a reset, but the tank was too pissed off at the healer after he failed a second time…so everyone dropped…leaving me short of leveling my AV rep by about 150 points…
I mentioned this in the other thread, but since this is the BDL thread - we’ll be making another run of Magister’s Terrace tonight at 9:00 server time (or earlier if we get a full group). Looking for anyone in the appropriate level range (or higher if we get desparate).
I’m not sure if this is actually what happens, but it seems like sometimes the traps will spawn behind you after you’ve cleared. I know I’ll scour the first room on my rogue and find nothing. Then after we pull the second room, all of a sudden traps are being sprung in the first room.
That’s not necessarily a problem. I’m pretty sure I’ve had times where we were tanking two skeletons *plus *other assorted trash. Just make sure both tanks are stacked in front, everyone else is behind, and the healers are keeping up with the damage. Have the tanks pop CDs or health pots if necessary to cover gaps in healing.
Last night I went to put some blue BoE tanking shoulders in the guild vault and saw that it was just almost completely full. So I did the following:
– I removed 10 green items from the Gear tab and disenchanted them. I put the resulting mats on the Mats tab for folks who are leveling crafting profs or need enchants.
– I tried to organize the gear – at least the armor pieces – a little bit by armor type. There are more green pieces but I’m limited to withdrawing 10 a day so they are still there.
– I reorganized the Mats tab to put all the gems, cloth, food, potions/elixers, and enchanting mats in proximity. I took some useless stuff (like 4 stacks of Pygmy Fish) and vendored it, and put the money back in the vault.
If I have a chance in the next few days I’ll try to clear out more of the greens and maybe do some more organizing. I think I’ll gradually replace the 10- and 12-slot bags with Frostweave bags also for folks who need them.
If I have time (a bit pressed for it atm) I’ll have Muzungu disenchant some of the greens as well. I think we should also vendor/auction some of the duplicate recipes - there are two or three of each of the Thorium blacksmithing plans for instance.
:smack: If the Cairne economy is anything like my server’s, you probably should have had an Alchemist turn the Pygmy Suckerfish into Pygmy Oils and then put those on the AH. They’re used in flasks, and usually go for a decent amount. Even the fish themselves probably would have sold for more on the AH than at a vendor.
IMO, one character should be designated as the bank cleaner and given pretty much unlimited access, at least on a temporary basis. This could be a Level 1 alt. (The GM could create a Bank Cleaner rank with lots of withdrawals for every tab, and then set the bank cleaner charachter to that rank only when they were specifically going to be doing the cleaning.)
Hmm, I didn’t realize that. Seems like I get 3-4 Pygmy fish from the fishing daily every day, so I figured they were a dime a dozen. Well I can make it up then: I’ll just take all those fish I’m getting and send them to my alchemist alt to turn into oils and put those in the vault (or AH them).
Are you running an AH-tracking addon? Whoever cleans out the bank probably should be, so they can safely tell what to vendor versus what to put up on the AH (and for how much).
Don’t feel bad Skammer, I thought the same way. I’ve been vending the fish after my dailies too. I should have 2-3 stacks in my bank though. I’ll oil 'em up and bank em.
Fun run last night. Would like to have done it with an at-level healer for the accomplishment, but on the other hand, glad we got it done:)

Just because you’re not organized *now *doesn’t mean you can’t have a plan going forward. I’d even volunteer to roll a bank-cleaning alt (I do the same job for my small friends-only alt guild on Stormrage). The only problem is that I don’t spend enough time on Cairne to have a really solid picture of the auction economy. But if nobody else is interested/has the time, I’d be logging over at least once a week, so I’d be able to build a scan DB pretty quickly.
I do have Auctioneer running, but I didn’t bother to even look at the AH price for the fish. I’ll be more careful.
And, I do have a level 1 alt who could do it, but he can’t disenchant stuff – that’s why I was doing it on my main.
I think the GL is actually Proditio (one of Shin Kell’s alts). I don’t remember who the vaultmaster is – possibly Omencaller, who hasn’t played in a year. I’d be willing to be VM but not while I don’t have an Authenticator yet. The Authenticator should be required for the VM job.
Yeah, it’s generally a good idea to check the AH price for everything–and also check the price for anything that can be made *with *the item, especially if no other mats are required.
That’s only necessary if the character is *permanently *left at that rank. Also, IIRC, there’s not really anything worth that much in the gbank, other than the gold itself, and there’s no reason to give the bank cleaner access to more than a handful of gold (for a starter for AH deposits).
Sorry I haven’t been around much lately. RL drama combined with getting ready to go on vacation has eaten to a large chunk of my free time. I’ll be more active when I get back in a couple weeks.
We really ought to add another bank tab or two, as well. Heck, my personal vanity guild has more GB tabs than the BDL bank! Keliraeda can chip in to paying for it - she’s got about 14k gold right now and really nothing to spend it on. What does the 5th tab cost? 2500g?
Re: Pygmy Suckerfish - I keep all of those, along with the Pygmy Oil, and when I have a good supply I mail it all off to my alchemist friend, who turns them into Guru’s Elixir for me.
There’s definitely stuff that’s been in there forever - f’rinstance you can go ahead and auction/disenchant that level 40-ish blue polearm - when I was leveling up my pally, he always had something better from dungeon finder drops.
