We are! We ran UK again this week, for like the fifth time. DPS was very low so we never were able to take down Ingvar. Anyway, same time next week - hopefully we’ll be put in Nexus one of these days.
Skammer / Kene (H/D - Priest) /Keyne (H - Pally) /Mon or Fri / Central
Yeticus Rex / Yeticalayla (D - Pally) / Mon or Wed. / Pacific
JayRx1981 / Rahuul (H - Druid)/ Free any night after 10pm EST
Tom Scud / Muzungu (T/D - Death Knight) / Rumpole (D/H - Priest) / Mon or Thu / central.
Runestar / Kalathan (D/T - Pally). Any nights but Mon/Wed, but could probably switch my Wednesday night - I pair up with a friend and we adventure together.
Jragon / Jsor (D - Death Knight) / Free any night time slot (this semester thru summer at least) / Arizona time zone (so I vary between what DST we’re on at any given moment).
Mister Rik / Keliraeda (D - Pally) Can’t really commit to this, though, since my irregular work schedule interferes with attending a regularly-scheduled event.
Eonwe / Mogbog (T) / PENDING
My Darn Snake Legs / Pangolin / PENDING
twhitt / Mefistofele (D, H) / PENDING
Nanook / PENDING

PROFIT!!!
Any changes to the above list? Any new 80s? Speak up, man/woman!
Any other Doper want a piece of the action…let me know!
There should be a new 80 this weekend–Cornballah(yeah, I know…was going for an Arrested Development homage) Demo Warlock. If you don’t mind an undergeared newb on the list…
Also have a pally tank and bm hunter in the low 70s for alt runs but they aren’t in BDL(yet).
Well, I played around with the RAM in various configurations and used Windows’ built-in memory tester. The problem is apparently the #4 memory socket on my motherboard. I can put either of the two new memory sticks in socket #2, and everything’s just fine, but when I put memory in socket #4, the memory test fails, and if I boot into Windows, it says that although I have 4Gb of memory, only 2.75Gb are addressable. So I guess I’ll just have to leave that last socket empty, and be content with 3Gb of memory.
I was wondering if that was an AD reference! I’m currently watching that on Netflix – halfway through season 3.
Even an ungeared, fresh 80 is marginally better than an empty slot which is most likely our other option.
Anyway, bumping this thread as a reminder of tonight’s raid. I’d like to take Keyne for ST heals (he can benefit from drops), but I can bring Kene if we need a raid healer.
I’m pretty much committed to Muzungu as tank/dps for this raid (did a full run of ToC on Rumpole last week); on the plus side, if we want them, we should be able to pick up pugs fairly easily at least for the first two fights, though they might drop out once they get the weekly quest done.
Also, anyone want to suggest a server for noob creation on Tuesday, since Cairne will be down for maintenance?
If we have another ST heals, I can do raid heals on Rahuul, otherwise i think I’ll end up being the second tank healer. Sadly, none of my other healers are levelled enough yet to participate.
In other news, I got my first piece of t10 gear last night (the helm) and thanks to the help of Kahmu, discovered that, at least according to EJ, I should have been gemming all this time for SP or SP/Haste, NOT haste like I had been. facepalm So, I’m back below the soft haste cap, but my SP is higher (which EJ ranks as the number one stat from what I’ve read). I’m still trying to decide if I want to swap out the Rapid Rejuv glyph for the WG glyph for raid heals though. Any advice anyone?
Grats! Hopefully, Bird will see this and put you on the raid invite if you think you can jump right in ToC…might be a stretch, but you can really gear up substantially if something good (item-wise) comes your way!
My girlfriend just got me back into playing, and since everyone I know transferred off my old server, I just transferred my main to Cairne in order to have a few people to talk to and play with. I’m not sure how much I’ll be playing, but I’ll be around. I have an 80 druid resto/tank-dps hybrid. I’ve been playing since Beta (for vanilla WoW), so if anyone needs help and I’m on, I can probably answer questions. I haven’t played in a while though. Eventually I’ll transfer over my 80 DK and my 70 Shaman and Warlock… but probably not for a little while yet.
I’ll message one of you and see if I can get an invite into that fine guild of yours See you on!
So. Semi-successful run at ToC last night - wiped a couple times on Northrend Beasts, and then had an epic finish to the Icehowl fight as a couple people (myself included) didn’t run quite fast enough from his charge; it ended with 2 healers and the tank knocking the last 100k off of him. We one-shotted Lord Jaraxxus for the weekly, then lost our first attempt at the faction champs with zero champs down, at which point Cornballah had to leave. We decided to nine-man the champs rather than try to find a pug, and ended up getting them on the next try, but by then it was 11:30 on the east coast and our east coasters had to go to sleep, so we called it a day.
I think we did pretty well. Consider: Cornballah literally just dinged 80, I was substituting my heroic-geared pally for my ICC-geared priest, and Jarryn was healing in his offspec.
I was getting pretty frustrated with myself for dying on so many fights, but I was pleased with my ability to keep the tanks alive (as long as I managed to stay alive).
Based on our last ToC raid and then last night, I think we’ve discovered the secret to beating the Faction Champs is to only have nine people in your raid.
I honestly think we should start doing ICC 10; with the 30% buff we should be good for the first 3-4 fights at least, and we’ll be able to start gearing people up fast.
Well, Shin will soon have 4 80s to choose from; I don’t think all of them will run ICC every week. The only time I’ve run ICC with Rumpole over the past six weeks or so was when Marrowgar was the weekly (and Muz has never set foot in the place). Yeti is likely to be ok with it. We probably won’t have Kene, depending on his new guild’s raid schedule, but we’ll have Keyne. As far as I know, Rahuul has yet to step into ICC. Darland and Rasz probably won’t be available, though Rasz’s druid probably will be. I think Kalathan is ICC-ready or nearly so, and I don’t think he plays much outside of the weekly sessions.
It depends - Kene did ICC-10 last week but didn’t get saved because it was just banging our head on LK. So it’s possible I’ll have either available, but definitely Keyne. I think our real bottleneck is tanks; we’ll be in trouble if Shin can’t bring one of his.
I’ll work on Panzera this week and see if I can’t get him as close to ready to tank as possible. I think I just need to finish his T9 set and try to get that darned black heart trink to drop in normal ToC and NOT lose the roll on it (grrr, off spec paly needed it at the same time I did in the one run it dropped, stupid me for not clearly announcing I needed it from the start). I may also try to build up my gold supplies to get some of the crafted ICC 264 level gear for him. Unless you’d prefer I stick with heals.
Well if I bring Keyne we’ll need raid heals – it’s not fair to rely on Jarryn’s offspec. If I bring Kene, we’ll need ST heals – not sure who else we have for that except Rolander and Xander. Has Rolander ever come to a Monday night raid? And of course if Shin brings Xander, he can’t bring a tank.
So to sum up: what you should bring depends on who else shows up and what they can bring.
ETA: Rumpole can do raid heals; but again that’s at the cost of a tank.
