Rumpole is Disc; I guess I could respec Holy but my gear is not well set up for it (not enough Spirit, forex).
Oops, I know, I meant tank heals.
What about extending the lockout next week for ToC10, and going after the last 2 bosses before heading into ICC10? Didn’t we one shot the two of them last time? Plus it’ll give us a shot at 2 more sets of drops. The only reason this wouldn’t work is if the weekly is Jaraxxus again. How far can we realistically go into ICC since it’ll be the first time for many of us.
Speaking of which, for those who’ve never stepped into ICC, here’s some video sites:
Tarouwowguides.com
Tankspot.com
Both have videos for all encounters in icc.
I’m ok with that, actually, since the last two encounters of ToC10 normal mode each have a chance of dropping the only staff upgrades available to Rahuul, outside of PVP arenas or ICC or 25man Ulduar (at least, as far as the wowhead link from Rahuul’s wow-heroes profile seems to think). I’d like to finally be rid of this darned i219 staff—my lowest ilevel object. ![]()
My guess is we’ll get either 1, 3, or 4 bosses into it. Deathwhisper (#2) is harder than either Marrowgar or the Gunship (lootship) encounter; Saurfang is tricky and it might take us a while to get the Blood Beast kiting/dpsing figured out. (We might not be able to do Marrowgar, but from what I’ve seen it’s not a very hard fight, really; you just need to switch quickly and run away during the obvious moments. I’m more worried about clearing the trash up to Marrowgar.)
Oh, and I’d totally be ok with finishing the last 2 fights in ToC, though if we’re trying to fill in with pugs that might be more difficult.
I’m fine with finishing ToC - Keyne has plenty of slots that need upgrades.
As far as ICC, I agree with Tom. The trash at the beginning can be tricky. Marrowgar is not too hard if dps is switching targets quickly and everyone runs out of the bad stuff. Gunship is not hard, and I think we’ll be ok with Saurfang. It’s Lady Deathwhisper (boss #2) who is the most difficult of the wing, IMO, because of all the adds and target switching. Of course I just stand there and heal so what do I know.
That’s going to be the tough part with no Shin next week, especially if Rasz isn’t available; our two most experienced ICC raiders will have most of their experience as healers. ![]()
Yeah I’ll be on vacation next week. If you guys do have enough to attempt ICC, I’ll see if my wireless connection will let me run Vent and I can explain the fights. I do think we can get the first four bosses down, maybe Festergut if our DPS is high enough, but Rotface could be tricky. Either way it should be fun times.
I know I won’t be able to play, last year I could only log on for about 5 minutes before being disconnected. Four of those minutes was spent loading into Dalaran.
Honestly, NRB is an encounter that’s more challenging than some of the ICC fights, because it’s a gauntlet with a bunch of different mechanics, if nothing else. I’ll agree that LDW is probably the main challenge you’ll face in the first wing. But Marrowgar and Lootship shouldn’t be a problem, and Saurfang will be fine once your ranged get a feel for kiting the adds with roots, snares, and stuns. Festergut these days is pretty easy on regular, and even Rotface isn’t too bad. (Got him down in a 10-man last night on regular with a tank who’d never kited the oozes before, had no clue how to do it, and pretty much picked it up as he went–and it only took two attempts.) PP will probably still be a bit of a learning curve. Dreamwalker should be pretty easy, especially if you have a Holy Paladin–if they’re geared enough. Blood Prince Council again may be a bit of a learning curve, just because you have to remember the various mechanics of each of the three bosses. Blood Queen is dead easy if people watch their alerts and timers.
Honestly, I’d expect that you’d have no problem going at least 5 or 6/12 within the first week or two.
Don’t forget there are quite a few of us here that are more than happy to explain fight mechanics 'til our faces turn blue. ![]()
I think we can go ahead and finish ToC and then do a rep grind in ICC (to get the ICC newbies up to friendly rep so they can upgrade their ring) and then maybe take a crack at Marrowgar if time allows. So we would have three different objectives in order here and depending on our successes, we could end up with virtually everyone getting some sort of upgrade.
On the trash mobs in ICC, 5 of us BDLs did quite well…I kicked out 10k dps on the first group of trash and ended up with about 7k overall, for what it’s worth.
And I know that Kalathan’s never set foot in ICC for any 10-man or 25-man raids, so she’s not locked out of anything.
I don’t mind it, really. That’s sort of why I rolled a priest in the first place. My concern is, I don’t have a whole lot of raid healing experience and that makes me hesitant to volunteer. I look at it as, this is a team effort. A team success benefits everyone involved. Am I better DPSer than a healer? Absolutely, and I think everyone would agree. But if I’m needed to heal instead of DPS on a given night, no problem.
I have no opinion on the Finish ToC/Go To ICC discussion. I’ve never done either so they’re both new to me.
What is the name of your druid so we can look out for you? I hope you know the password…![]()
I didn’t post it because I didn’t know it at the time. Seriously. The druid’s old name (Kahz) was taken on Cairne, so I had to wait for the transfer to go through to see what name I could get to work.
So his new name is Taursus. See you all on!
(As for the password, I figure I can just spit out something about Cecil and be fine… but other than that… uh… is it “100g donation to the guild bank?”
)
Nope. Monday nights tend to suck for me. ![]()
One day, though, it shall happen. And in the meantime, I do enjoy our semi-guild-runs where a few of us grab some puggers and go kill Sarth or Marrowgar.
Uhhh… yeah, that’s it exactly!
Bump to remind everyone of the party tonight.
Got absolute crap for sleep last night; not sure I’m going to be up for it. We’ll see.
You still have twelve hours; plenty of time to sleep.
I’d like to add a new alternate to the list - Makig is finally 80! I’ve still got a bunch of gearing up to do before I’m capable of being a contributor, but soon, soon…
