Things That Go Bzzzzz In The Night: A Ghostly MMP

‘Numb nuts’ is reserved for someone who does it more than once.

p, caffeied. Off to heave. < braces for TVCTPMO assault >

We have a Bzzzz in the workshop. Night and day. Something randomly makes a quite loud short Buzz. I thought it was a door buzzer the first time I heard it. That loud and distinct. But no. The building had grown quite haphazardly over the years before we moved in. The wiring is very mysterious. Many breaker panels with no labels. A few switches that seem to do nothing. We have a thermostat that does not seem to do anything. Others do. Can’t quite localize the source. Too short and random. It does not seem to herald the turning on or off of anything.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 54 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 80 and N.O.S. for the day. This is Fall weather in these here parts. I need to do some errands this mornin’ includin’ a trip to :astonished: Wally*World. :astonished: OuGritside of that the usual sloth is on the agenda. Grilled chikin sallits and cheesey garlic bread are on the menu for sup.

kitap hooray for the good report. May the chemo sessions knock the rest of the cancer out for good.

shoe you apologized, so good for you. BooFae has the PSWSLNS ready to travel to Texas upon request.

Kedikat maybe it’s a ghost fly.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, for the second day in a row, bother of bothers, I suppose I must purtify and don attire acceptable for bein’ amongst the great unwashed. Life is just full of never endin’ difficulties!

Happy Thursday Y’all!

No, not from me. I gift folks with stuff I make when I make it. If I could make Lindt, I’d weigh about 5000# and my fingers would be too fat to type! Sounds like you have a secret admirer - have you been making goo-goo eyes at the butcher lately??

Interest rates just went up again - why would anyone refinance these days??

The stoopit interest rates, coupled with that stoopit hurricane that wiped out FL seem to have cooled any interest in the in-laws’ house. FCD talked with the realtor and they’ve dropped the price. Used to be houses in that neighborhood sold before they were even listed. Well, this one has been listed over a month now… dammit.

They want them spread in the Great Smokies National Park. I think that’s going to fall to our daughter to accomplish, tho FCD might want to tend to it himself when the time comes.

How about closing it in a desk drawer? (Thankfully, I was in the office alone on a stoopit night shift, so no one witnessed my owie!)

How about “I gotta go” and hang up the phone as soon as it starts… Or you could call one of your Mumper Moms and have a proper conversation. Am I right, ladies??

Weirdly disturbing dream about sorting thru an old house for… reasons? What was even weirder: doggio was there. I don’t know how tall you are for reals, but you were really tall in my dream, or maybe I was really short.

Today, FCD is 66. He gets to start his b-day by taking his fambly to Motor Vehicles to get their car title changed to Merrylande and to BIL. Poor baby… We’re doing a family b-day dinner tomorrow, but I may take him out to eat tonight if he wants to. We shall see.

Other than that, I’ve got Tobias, then Roxy, and we’ll be able to go to the playground again since it’s going to be a nice afternoon. That’ll pretty much be my day.

Happy Thursday!

Mornin’, everyone.

nellie, I’m glad things went well, that your itchies have subsided a little, and that you have such a terrific SiL.

kitap, I’m glad things went well for you too.

shoe, we all have days where we become a little snarly. I’m glad you apologized. I’m sorry your mother is so bad to you. You need to do what’s best for you; maybe just cutting her out of your life for a bit is the answer, or at least, just say “Time to go” and hang up as suggested above.

I want to be cremated and want my cremains spread at Mount Rainier National Park. It’s my happy place.

I have slammed my boob in a car door. It was painful.

To take us all the way back to the MMP topic, I did forget about our house walker. I hadn’t heard it in awhile, so it slipped my mind. We used to hear someone walking around on the second floor of my house along the short hall outside the kids’ former bedrooms. Sometimes they walked in my son’s former bedroom. We weren’t the only ones who heard it. It was loud enough that we always checked to see if anything was up there. My daughter was upstairs in her former bedroom nursing my granddaughter one day when she heard walking right outside the door. The walking would stop right outside the door and then head back to the other room. She was freaked out. We were all downstairs. It’s somewhat creepy but seems benevolent.

I hope all goes smoothly with the title transfer, FCM. Yeah real estate is really slowing down. I’ve even given up the hunt for a house for now. Those interest rates are crazy.

Well, onward with the day. Have a good one, y’all.

{{{shoe}}} If you want to call up one of your Mumper moms or sisters, just pm one of us with a phone number. I can guarandamntee we won’t give you the ration that your mom does.

Glad for the good medical report kitap. I hope that the remaining chemo goes well.

Happy birthday to FCD! I hope that he doesn’t have too many issues at the DMV Mooooom.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP. The dryer just buzzed from the throw rug that was in there. When I got home yesterday, I put one foot in the door and smelled the nastiness before I saw it. :face_vomiting: Apparently, Nelson had a runny poo that couldn’t wait until I got home. :face_vomiting: I backed out, slipped my shoes off, gathered up the throw rug and the shoes, disposed of the solids and put everything into the washing machine in hot water and bleach. I forgot about them (the washer doesn’t let me know when it’s finished like the dryer) and hung up the shoes / dried the rug this morning. Nelson was his usual lively self, so we went ahead to the dog park after.

Today, the only things on the agenda are going to early vote (it’s the last day) and going to the 'Boro to pick up some bacon on sale.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s 10c/50f with a predicted high of 11c/51f and partly cloudy. That explains the sun then, right? Weather app says “This is the perfect day to stay in bed and try out that new fucking vibrator”. Err…no, the parcel I got yesterday was a pair of trainers so no point staying in bed to try those out!

shoe we all get snarly at times, other times we’re grumpy, uncommunicative, unhappy with stuff, and other days we are a little ray of sunshine. It’s what makes us human, and I’m sure your colleagues will understand. It helps that you apologised afterwards, now you can put it out of your mind otherwise you’ll dwell on it too much and that’s not good.

Happy birthday to FCD, I hope he enjoys whatever celebrations he’s having (maybe not the motor dept though).

Kitap good news on the results, I hope the rest of the chemo is uneventful.

BBBoo someone out there obviously appreciates you!

Kedikat I was listening to a radio thing the other day about how old wiring and outdated building practices can make a house seem haunted when it isn’t. It’s strange to think that a poorly designed and installed lift can make your cutlery rattle in the drawer!

Fire warden training was accomplished yesterday afternoon, it was boring as expected since the first half covered what’s in the standard fire safety training sessions we also have to attend. We did get out early but to no benefit since the trains were all delayed, and it was absolutely heaving down. I got home soggy and grumpy, wrung out my socks and went to the pub instead. A nice evening was had by all.

Today I had an unexpected meeting in my diary, it wasn’t pleasant but it’s over. I think there may be some PSWSLNS needed at my workplace soon! In order to cheer myself up, I’ve booked onto a spin class later today, then I need to make dinner when I get home. I got mince out of the freezer so I think it will become spagbol.

Morning all. Slept well again, the heavy comforter seems to do a better job than the lighter one, so ready for the day. Need to get over to the bookstore to get some reading matter that just came out (another in the long Sci-Fi “Ring of Fire” series) and have a soccer meeting tonight at 7pm (signed up for 6 games this weekend). Also need to work some gym time in there. Another perfect day, no rain and heading for 78F. Only bad thing is having to mow the lawn right up to Thanksgiving…

red, so Nelson was Pooh-bear yesterday? Hope he;s doing well today.

FCM, happy B-day to FCD; been a rough year for him, but hopefully this one won’t be quite as stressful.

shoe, second FCM’s recommendation, and if you need a grumpy uncle to talk too… And you did the best thing possible…you apologized and meant it; your co-workers know that.

Kedikat, maybe they’ll find it when the building burns down…

flyboy, there’s some good ones there, I like #8,13,14,and 26.

OK, on to breaking fast and then probably off to the gym and bookstore. All y’all take care.

I have been making goo-goo eyes only at 1 year charmer of a grandson and his six year old sister. I’m utterly shameless about that. No self-control whatsoever when it comes to those two, but that’s it.

Right you are >*Boo lurches over to the PMs and sends her phone number to shoe. Use it~I’m always up late and I’d enjoy the hell out of the company<

Adding my guarandamntee to hers.

Hope he enjoys his pot roast and his layer cake~he really does deserve a nice birthday! apply lots of Toby and Roxie hugs early and often on his big day.

It’s cloudy and looks like it’s about to rain, which makes sense, since there’s a 90% chance of that. I need to walk to the bank today. It’s only 1/4 mile, but it’ll be the farthest I’ve walked yet. I should also do some laundry.

shoe, another Mumper Mom here who’d be happy to talk or just give you a rescue call when you need an excuse to get off the phone with your mother.

taters, I don’t believe in ghosts, but hearing someone walk down a hallway would freak me right out.

FCM, Happy Birthday to FCD!

Nothing inherently spook about my house, but after my mom died, I was visited by a few people. One was an old man in a flat cap. I figured he had lost his way. My parents have visited me as well as other randos.

The day went…well.

6’1" or so.

Meanwhile in Nairobi…
Why do these dang lights keep blinking?!?!?
Welcome to the MMP!

The trek to Motor Vehicles went well and the inlaws’ car now belongs to BIL. FCD is home and doing something while Tobias and I occupy the basement. He had a 90 minute nap and a good lunch. We leave in an hour to fetch his sister.

Dunno if we’ll go out for supper or not. Maybe order in? We shall see.

Y’all are the best. Now imma … yeah, the eyelashes aren’t happening today. I’m scared that I’m gonna get yelled at, mostly because I feel like I should be yelled at.

You shouldn’t be yelled at. You slipped up, you apologized. Forgive yourself, those yelled at already have forgiven you, if they even noticed. You actually gave them a gift: by not being perfect every minute of every day you gave them the grace of not needing to be perfect to be ok with you.

Give them a big smile when you walk in, bet you get relieved smiles back.

My chemo is 3 more times, starting November 16. So, mid December then mid January then a CAT scan.

I guess I have to unretire Mr. Hedgehog, my chemo buddy.

There are apparently times only being a B cup is a good thing. I’d probably have to be trying to achieve that.

Gotta go get the BP checked again in a couple of hours (phone doc decided this was needed after it started creeping upward again. Oddly, after that call, it headed back down. No major recent stress, no abnormal caffeine intake, a couple of days with zero caffeine didn’t seem to help). Hope they don’t freak about the damage to my right hand from Buddy. He apparently got a bit upset about an attempt to remove him from my lap so I could stand up and latched onto my arm with extended claws. Pretty impressive scratches on the back of my hand, plus a bruise on my forearm (a hind claw apparently tagged a fairly good-size blood vessel.

Still got the same crud, but it’s not bad enough that I wouldn’t feel really stupid taking Lyft. Google Maps surprised me by telling me the trip would only be half a mile one way. I thought it was closer to a mile.

This is perfect.

shoe, you’re MUCH too hard on yourself. I guess we all know where that came from, but she’s a rotten Inner Critic. Totally unqualified. Fire her and replace her with swampy or Boo.

nettie, hope the BP goes down.

I hope all goes well with chemo, kitap.

I had a fever dream earlier today that my daughter’s swim coach had renamed himself. AssBad McHankerchief. Now it’s been a while since i had an actual fever, but that’s just silly. I even woke up snickering.

Adding myself to the list of people you can call, shoe, and any doper who needs to.

I’d better go to bed again. I’m getting loopy.
