What’s with all this talk of 12 step prgrams for quitting the boards?
The way I see it is I’m not addicted to the boards, but rather, I’m no longer addicted to real life (and let me tell you, was that ever a hard addiction to quit. Woo.).
It’s really better to look at it that way…
It doesn’t matter and these “I made XX00 or X00 posts” don’t mean shit amongst the world.
I heard it said once via an email, that those that “leave for a while should have their post counts go back to zero”…you know what, I would LOVE to see the post counter taken from our names and profiles and only to show the date with which we signed on to the SDMB…screw this count, we can put in a shit load of posts like handy with little impact, sorry handy your posts suck for the most part “Mr Drive By,” or we could look at people with honest posts like purplebear and know the post counts as something to think about…but overall I think “counting” our posts is full of crap.
If you make an impact upon the general posters at large, then you have something to celebrate but other than I think it’s a big scam…so what I have over 3500 posts, there are several (okay many) I wish I could erase from memory and a few members here, but I have contributed in many a threads, unlike this one…But I can’t stress, it’s worthless if you have 100 or 10,000 posts if your contribution is nothing note worthy.
Your post count means crap until people can look upon you as a nice, thinking and smart being…with that said I know a few don’t think of me that way. HEHE, that’s okay I feel the same for them. But don’t even think that post count makes anyone a popular or nice subject…
'Nuff said but as you can see I think post parties SUCK and I wish the Admins could eliminate the post amount from the thread…
Although I don’t do post parties of my own, I think it is okay for people who want to socialize in this manner. After all, this is the forum for the pointless and mundane. And there is some chatting and conversation going on here that is fairly amusing to me.
And while I’m here, I’ll blow you a few hugs and kisses since I haven’t e-mailed you or posted by you in a while. Cheer up, techchick, my friend. Life is too short to get upset about this stuff.

I am sorry I got pissy, that was not cool of me in this thread. I still stand behind the post count thing. I would like to see people focus on the people and the posts they make rather than the post count.
But again, I am sorry I said that. That was not fair of me and I hope Redboss will see I am not against him/her.

I said something stupid and later came back to retract that. Unfortunately you can’t do that on most message boards. I was pissy and should not have even entered this thread…Oh and you da man, I did that at 1000 and haven’t done a post party since. Shoot even our esteemed Euty has asked us to refrain from creating such threads.
So anyhow, I was in the wrong for my original posting in here and apologized for it…either deal with it or don’t but I did my best to right my wrong. < sigh >
