It’s been a long strange year, my friends.
Dindin has been ingested. Poke roast, baby carrots, butter beans, baked sweet N.O.T. and rolls. We’s stuffded! I done good!
Other than that, ‘tis rainin’ like we need more and tomorrow promises to be a stormy day which will be perfect for the chili I dug outta da freezer earlier.
And that’s the news from swampland.
Sounds like swampland is extra-swampy with all the rain! We’re promised some dry days ahead, tho cold.
I’m hoping to do a lot of chilling over my 4-day weekend. We’ll see how that goes.
And lots of other people who have been dead for 50 years or more.
Great minds think alike — and it seems ours do as well.
For the most part, the older I get the longer and stranger the years seem. Ah, for the carefree days of our youth when we were immortal.
So true, my friend.
Travis McGee, is that you?
I had a problem once when a moron entered an incorrect date. Perhaps it is something of that order. I would very much like to interview that person in an alley with a Louisville slugger. :dubious:
Doc do tell! The stranger the better up in here.
The rain has stopped. For now. Next round is on its way. Rah.
On that note we shall retire to the boudoir to watch teevee until sleepy time which won’t be long. We’s tahrd.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
I worked. My sinus are shedding their summer lining so they can grow a winter linging. I took a nap after work.
As would I.
Like a 116 year old.
Go sic 'em, Bbbobbio.
Butters, there’s the Keys(which are wonderful), and then there are parts in the north that are the reason Fark has “A Florida Man” tag.:smack:
Very glad to have tomorrow off. Today was not a happy one. No big drama or crisis, just a bunch of fairly minor stuff, but I’m too tired/hormonal to handle it well.
I intend much quality time with my pillow tonight/tomorrow. I haven’t yet caught up on that sleep deficit from fall semester, it seems.
I think I can, I think I can, I think I can…one more full day and one half day til blessed off time.
In other news The Keys are going to sink with all the people that are here and still coming. Nonstop back to back crawl from Miami to Key West. One of my workers had to drive to the airport in MIA this morn. Took her seven hours to get back on a normal 3 hour trip. One ten mile swath took an hour and a half so she said. Making hay while the sun shines.
I has a blurf. I’s tahrd, too, which is part of the blurf.
I spent two hours cleaning up someone else’s mess at irk, but if I hadn’t, it would have turned into a shit show of epic proportions for me and my department, and we can’t have that. So I went in and bailed the guy out and made it clear that I am willing to help, but that he has to ask for it because I’m not bailing his ass out again. I really don’t like him for a variety of reasons, but this just cemented it.
Beef stewp for dinner. It was supposed to stew but wound up too thick for soup but too thin for stew. Still pretty good. Dinner tomorrow is chili.
I’m going to bed now.
Our critter sitter left some cat toys for Taz and Ziva, altho Taz is really the only one who plays with them. One is a ball with a bell inside that, in the dark of the morning, sounds like a cat clawing at a birdcage. We don’t have any birdcages, so I was confused, and ticked at being awakened at 4, but that’s another matter. Why can’t the stoopit cat frolic while I’m at work instead of during the last few minutes of sleep before my day begins?
But it’s my Firday, with a 4-day weekend ahead, so yay! I’m planning to paint the stand for my smoker in addition to the routine household chores, but no other big items on the to-do list. Chillage is high on the list, tho.
Happy Wednesday!
Happy Hump Day!
It’s foggy outside.
My brain isn’t much better. Up too early, bladder this time.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 70 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 76 and yet more rain. Rain today, tonight, tomorrow, and Firday with a cool down to the 50s Firday. ICK!
OK, that’s all I got for now. I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. I suppose I should also purtify somewhat as I do need to go to the sto’ this mornin’.
Rockin’ GMTA! Chili and cornbread are on the menu for tonight here in da cave.
Happy Hump Day Y’all!

It’s 21 degrees Fahrenheit here, just cold. At least the wind isn’t blowing.
I don’t go back to work until next Monday, a combo of one vacation day, the holiday, and the weekend.
I need some good coffee so I may leave soon to seek it. The coffee I make myself is not so good, at home I prefer tea.
Down in the dumps a little, due to problems at work, and that tomorrow I get one day older. Geez, where did the time go? When I was a kid years seemed long, now they fly by.
Up, caffeinated, working tonight. It’s 66 and rainy
Blurf.
Rough commute this morning. There was a Boxer jackknifed under my desk chair.
