This Is The MMP

**flytrap **- we had one of those too!!

Alas, I undoubtedly plagiarized the concept.
Nice stand! Is that a 100?

I did refurb on the 4’ x 4’ stand we bought. I built a 2"x4" stud wall to hold up one side of the 100 that will be saltwater, and cut the top to allow removal over the sump. Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) had to help we get the top off with a crowbar. The LFS assured me it was just tapped in; there were six deck screws holding it in place. :dubious:
A 55 won’t fit for a sump, we will have to use a forty. Lucy the anglefish, occupant of said 40, gave me the evil eye each time I put a tape measure to her tank.

Oh yes, on her trip to Dallas, Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) picked up a 40 breeder she bought on Ebay, with stand, heater and filter for $98.00.
The filter is a Fluval FX5 that sells at the LFS for $300.00.

Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) is cool.

Who knew catfish could be so cute?

Heading to my sister’s in WV for the 4th. Have no idea what’s in store. There’s a 40% chance of storms all through the weekend.

One of my favorite 4th of July traditions, however, is to go for an early morning run and listen to them read the Declaration of Independence on Morning Edition.

I should get a tank, put Smokey in it for a photo, then return the tank (once Smokey jumps out)

**flytrap **- it’s a 125 - the pic was taken before we set it up in its current home.

Incidentally, my daughter nagged me into reactivating my facebook page. I’ve sent a few friend requests, and if you want to contact me, let me know - it’s in my real name, which I’d rather not put up here, even tho many of you know it.

Evenin’ Y’all! After irked I made a quick dindin of grilled chikin sallit and Dead Lobster cheddar bay bizkits. Then, mowage of da yahds commenced and has been finished. I’s all showered and fresh now. I’s also tahrd but da yahds are mowed so Go Me!

gotti yay on bein’ cleared for surgery. I know, what a thing to yay over but once you get through the surgery, therapy, healin’ and all your back will be much better and that’s yay worthy.

I have a sudden urge for catfish filets. :stuck_out_tongue:

Blech! It’s 95 degrees here and it’s HOOOOOTTTTTT in the house. I’m not a fan of the heat.

FCM, I saw that you were back on FB, and I reminded you of who I am here on the SD since I’m not sure you remember my RL name.

I’m sure the “boys” would like to eat something, but I have no interest in cooking in this hot-ass house. I’m thinking that I will be picking up dinner. I’m not even hungry, heat turns my appetite to nothing, but it doesn’t seem to affect them as much with regards to appetite.

I think you should transport your cee-ment pond up here**, Swampy. **

**Taters **- I do remember your name. Actually, most of the names that perplex me are, I believe, people I knew thru work about 4 or 5 years ago. In fact, looking at some of their posts, they’re the reason I quit FB in 2009. I’ve already unfriended a few of the worst offenders - by that I mean folks who only posted political hate and glurgy crap. I don’t need that in my life.

And now, I’m going to bed. I’s tahred…

Dang, FCM’s post made me check my Facebook page and I think a former co-worker of mine had a stroke.

I should not check Facebook. Nothing good comes from that website.

(((((Taters)))))

Glad the test went well, gotti, and yay for rescheduled surgery!

I am at irk, I went on a training course yesterday afternoon that was more useful than the usual ones I get sent on. We are replacing our old and tired virtual learning environment with a fancy new package so they are starting to let us loose on it. I was talking to one of the guys from the learning development team (I’ve been on several of his courses before), he said I should get onto as many as I can because they need to know there are folks in the university who can actually get on and use the stuff without constant supervision and without asking idiot questions. That is praise indeed, when it comes from him. I shall sit here and polish my virtual halo.

My evening was busy-ish, half an hour on the wii followed by a shower, then the laundry went on, prepped veggies for dinner, put the rubbish and kitchen scraps bins out for this morning’s collection and shared my dinner with Shadow. Ophelia doesn’t care for human food, she waits until I’ve eaten and then insists that she has at least an hour of fuss instead.

Somewhere near the house, there is a drummer in a garage who practices until all hours. He was playing all weekend and every evening, last night I had to shut the bedroom window at 10.30pm because he was keeping me awake. So then I had to try and sleep in a hot room since I couldn’t keep the window open for the noise…thus I is tired today and wanting some sleep.

If he keeps it up, I’ll be complaining to the council and pointing a couple of Sri Lankan spiders in his direction now that I’ve been able to work out which garage he’s in.

double blurfsup[/sup]

I called my cousin last night, he was able to trace the freezer back to at least 1979 based upon when he got married & when his parents sold their house & moved! It might be older but he doesn’t remember if it was in the house or not. Gotta call his brother to see what he remembers.

Blurf. Is it Thursday yet? I’m only working 5 days this week.

{{{{Taters}}}}

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 72 muggy degrees Amurrkin out with a predicted high of around 89 and rain. Oh well, at least I got da yahd mowed between bouts of rain.

lieu that’s pretty good for a freezer especially these days. Sorry about losin’ all that frozen stuff though.

Ok, now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Off to grandma’s house for me and the twins and off to Toronto for my husband!!

Nevermind, my daughter is throwing up. I don’t think we need to go to grandma’s house if she is sick

I’m supposed to be running a 5 mile race on Thursday and my @#$@% knee is acting all crunchy again. I am so pissed.

Sparing you the disgusting details, I had a horrible night due to some sort of gastrointestinal distress. I don’t know if I even managed to get 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep, so I’m definitely in zombie mode this morning. Plus it’s drizzly and overcast, so getting my motivator motivated is a challenge.

I’m supposed to get a call this morning about the fisheries job, so regardless of the weather, I won’t be doing any work outside till that happens. Fingers crossed.

Another chore is to recharge my phone account. Since switching to the stoopit pay-as-you-go account, I’ve been using it more than on the $$$ account. But not enough to justify going back on a contract. I figure my useage will drop off to almost nothing again.

Caffeine isn’t helping - my brain is still incoherent. Gonna be a long day…

Happy-ish Tuesday. :stuck_out_tongue:

And now for my anti-rant. A new book has just come out about the Lincoln Highway. A picture that I took of my traveling, singing friend is featured in it! (I knew it was going to be, but it’s pretty exciting to see my name there.)

Morning all,

Congrats Sticky on the book photo credit. Thats pretty neat!

Spidey, sucks on the freezer. Have you considered a scratch and dent as opposed to new? We saved $200 that way because of a small dent on the front. Also there should be 4th of July sales too, at least there are a billion (yes I counted) here cause the TV wont shut up about them.

Got my new iphone 4 yesterday, yay! Went to activate it and it said I must go to the store, boo!

Irk is boring and my mom is coming down for the 4th because my dad is being a total d*ck, but that is nothing new.

Oh yeah, back to the OP - we have no special plans, food or otherwise, for the 4th. So far, it’s not supposed to be raining that day, but beyond that, I got nothing.
