I have frequently had to bury my mouth in my forearm to keep from screaming laughter at work while reading some of these posts.
It’s like a small town…and once you’ve been here awhile, you’ll notice the regulars and what they come to contribute.
I’ve gotten support, engaged in lively discussions, cried, laughed, and had my ass handed to me on a silver platter. And I’d like to think I’ve been able to provide the same to a couple of people here.
Bottom line, if it’s not fun for you, don’t subject yourself to it. But don’t be so hard on yourself.
Lobsang… I’d be willing to bet you’re probably the most interesting, intelligent, and witty doper on the whole Island, right?

I won’t pick on you, Lob.
I’ve had similar thoughts myself from time to time, but I just push them aside and post away. If everyone chooses to disregard my new thread, I move on. If someone says something snotty but not quite Pittable, I ignore them or make a joke. If I arrive late to a thread and it seems like all the funny stuff has been said already, I still post what I want to say.
And I liked your pictures too.
Back again…Hey, I wasn’t trying to be a smart-ass, just a different point of view. You know, make lemonade, that kinda bullshit. Some of us seem to forget that on the other side of this board are some really good folks (some assholes too!) Try to overlook the ignorance of the few (at least I hope it’s just a few), anyway…fuck’em if they don’t like what you’re input is. I’ve done a little snooping, plus I remember some threads and you seem pretty cool, so again I say fuck’em.
Just keep it real and try not to bullshit TOO much. Forget about your last two or three threads you got cold shouldered (bad joke that probably whooshed over anyway) and a mod. spanked your bottom a little. It’s good for ya’…helps keep ya on your toes.

Awww, Lobsang, I used to [and still do sometimes] feel the same way. But I realised that there’s no point in fretting over it, this IS just a message board [albeit an almighty holy one] and isn’t really going to have much influence in your RL.
Other than that, I’ve decided to go all out and pretty much say what I’m thinking and to stop editing everything I write here. Sometimes I write boring stuff that no one notices. Sometimes I write witty stuff that…no one notices.
But hey, at least I tried. No?
T’is but a long, humungously long, wall, upon which we write.
Sometimes our wisdom is scrubbed off pretty quickly.
Sometimes it lingers to delight years after the words have dried and the scribes gone to other things.
What’s special is the people who write the words, the geniuses, the fools, the lovers, the depressed.

I don’t know what to say to all this. I am not used to being praised, (and cheered up) I am a bit embarrased. thankyou very much everyone! I am humbled. Next time I feel like a victim or next time I am down I will refer back to this thread.

I can see where that might be confusing. A poor choice of words on my part. While the majority of us do our part to fight ignorance in the world. Sadly, there are a few who seem to enjoy it’s promotion. Some pathetically don their badge of ignorance with a sense of pride. Their condescending and frequent volatile remarks are often merely a form of self-gratification.
I think DNFTT is the best response to such “members” where this applies. As for the regular old assholes…screw’em!
In some cases therefore, I feel that “overlook the ignorance”, in certain situations might be appropriate. If it is obvious the person in question is obviously being a(n) ignorant/smartass on purpose.
Let the mods. have them…they have a pretty good track record when it comes to banning these instigators.
