Three Stooges Movie. Wow that looks terrible.

See, here’s the thing. It wasn’t just Moe poking Curly or Larry in the eyes. They worked entire routines around the eye poke. Moe attempts to poke, let’s say, Curly who brings up his hand blocking the poke neatly between Moe’s fingers. Moe does a quick “oh well” take, as Curly chuckles in triumph, only to change his reaction to surprised dismay as Moe in a cobra-quick counter-counter move pokes Curly with his two index fingers, past Curly’s blocking hand. And this was just the eye poke manuver. They had so many purely physical routines that it has been written about the Stooges that they elevated slapstick to “a manic martial art.”

These routines were done lightning quick, and they were a joy to watch. Imagine the split second timing it takes to block an eye poke neatly between the fingers before the blow lands. This wasn’t trick photography. It was expertly honed craft.

Try it sometime. I’m sure that it won’t be a problem to get your nickname changed to “Blinky” or “Winky” or “Patch” if doing such an extended routine proves not so easy as you seem to think.

If you were any smarter, you’d be an ignoramus!

I watched that trailer and it looked exactly like what a three stooges movie should look like.

Numbskull.

just kidding.it was said with love and respect.

Moe: “Why you…”
Moe pokes Curly in the eyes. He pulls his fingers out, and a spray of blood and viscera follows. Curly’s eyes fly straight up in the air.
Curly: “Nyuk, nyuk! I can see my house!”

I thought the commercials making it look like a horror movie were clever. I have little hope for the movie.

As did I. I found out about in the previous Three Stooges thread, and enjoyed it greatly. I am looking forward to the Three Stooges movie. From what I saw in the trailer, the cast did a very credible job with the characters, and I’m looking forward to revisiting them again.

Then again, I didn’t hate the Brady Bunch movies, nor the Beverly Hillbillies movie, so what do I know? I hope to have a few laughs and revisit some childhood memories.

The concept sounds like a terrible idea. After watching the trailer, I thought that maybe, perhaps it might not be so terrible. Not great, but not offensive to the memory of the original Stooges, at least. But then I saw Kate Upton in her Nun’s habit swimsuit, and I forgot anything else I’d seen up to that point. Clearly, this movie is a classic, and deserves many sequels and a spin-off series starring her character.

seems the whole movie is gonna fall on Sasso’s shoulders has curley if it ends up being good or not. though i woulda REALLY liked to see jim carrey’s (who was 1st cast) take on curley but it seems while he gained 40 pounds it was still shy of the 90 pounds required and he didnt want to harm his health.

the fact that the gang from the jersey shore is in this though… sigh

I caught the trailer on TV last night-I found the routine where Moe pokes the eyes of some poor woman when she looks into a box on his lap pretty appalling, to be honest.

That’s Snooki, from the “Jersey Shore”. I’m sure people who know who she is will appreciate the eye poke. I did.

My wife has informed me that we are definitely going to see the Three Stooges.

But, yeah, initially I thought it looked terrible too, but many people I know seem pretty impressed with the idea.

That’s not possible?

It’s true. . . such women exist. . . she’s even attractive, feminine, and loves flowers, and shiny objects. I was kinda surprised actually.

I Googled Kate Upton, not knowing who she was. As a late co-worker would have put it: “that’s all meat and no potatoes”.

Umm… is that a good thing or a bad thing? I mean, I like meat, and I like potatoes, so I can’t tell.

It was what he said when someone was built like a brick shithouse. :stuck_out_tongue:
