Time for breakfast in the MMP

Got out of work ,walked Gordie, then took a nap. Canes lost.:o

swampy, ick.

Even if the fridge could be made pristine, I could never use it. Ugh. I’ve just been reading online about a giant hornet’s nest some folks found in an abandoned house trailer. Urk.

Now to work, so I can go watch more movies. This morning are two Russian films, Chess Fever, a two reeler, and Battleship Potemkin.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.

*Without *Mel’s help, I slept till nearly 7! YAY!! Higgs didn’t wake me either - I just opened my eyes and there was morning!!

The bed has been stripped and disassembled. **FCD **went to get him a fountain soda, and when he gets back, he needs to get all the shoes that were under his side of the bed - LOTS of shoes. I swear, that man had 3X as much footwear as I do - partly because he never throws any away. Because they’re still good for grubbies. How many grubbies does one man need??

Once he removes the shoes, I can vacuum up what is likely tons of cat hair, since Ziva favors her “cave” under my side of the bed. She’s pretty much the same color as the bedroom carpet - I can’t tell by looking how hairy it is. We’ll see what comes up in the machine.

In theory, the mattress guys could show up in 10 minutes, but I’m betting it’ll be lots closer to noon. We shall see…

Happy Saturday!

headachy blurf. plus BRRRR.

Happy Saturday!

It’s a sunny 25 degrees outside. Supposed to get up to 46, and then we get a couple of days in the 60s.

Not much the agenda for today. Irk and house irk. And laundry, lots of laundry.

Up and officially sick; sore throat and head cold. And tomorrow will be in the 50s and sunny. The temptation to get the bike out will be very high but I hope to resist.

Waiting for “Sears” repair for their third attempt at fixing the washer. They did fix the main problem (blown clutch) the first time but it now keeps going out of level. I have a bad feeling the first tech broke one of the legs. So ------ I am annoyed and not feeling well.

Boy, howdy, was there a lot of hair in the vacuum cleaner! But the bedroom is ready for the delivery men, within the next 3 anna half hours…

I’ve got a load of towels in the washer - they’re going out on the lines. It’s sunny and breezy and a perfect day to hang clothes out. Jeans load next.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 36 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 64 and sunny. The biggest item on today’s agenda is the retrieval of outdoor cooker and the cleanin’ of said appliance. The thrill of it all is almost too much!

For now, however, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy is hongry. Then I suppose I should purtify enough to be seen publicly.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Ewwww! swampy, that fridge sounds nasty.

I’m getting stuff around to take to a friend’s house where I am elder sitting tonight. She and her husband have been married a year and they haven’t had the opportunity for an overnight trip because she’s the primary caregiver for her elderly mom. So Miss G and I are going to watch a classic movie (complete with popcorn) and color in a grown up coloring book before she gets tucked in.

Bug fridge = Yuck!

Yay for weekends! This past week was long and difficult with a few deliveries of bad news thrown in for good measure. Next week has to be better. I’m choosing to believe that this week was so full of crap because the universe wanted to throw it all my way at once, and things will level out from here. Cross your fingers for a crap-free week next week!

We are going to a pancake breakfast in an hour or so. After that I will be forcing myself to take a little me time. I have crochet projects, books, and a few other things that have been neglected lately.

**Lily **- many years ago, when I was in a bit of a funk, a friend of mine offered a point of view that has helped me. He suggested that over the course of your life there are highs and lows that average to a rather bland middle value. He asked me if I’d be willing to go without the highs if it meant I wouldn’t have to deal with the lows, and I realized I wouldn’t.

It may not be very profound, but it has made a difference to me.

Meanwhile, jeans are on the lines, 3rd load is in the washer, still no bed delivery. We could have gone out for breakfast…, :frowning:

Apparently the MMP is waiting with baited* breath for a delivery update on the new bed.

  • You can take the bait; just stay away from the hook!

We went to N.O.L. at Sonny’s MOOOOOOM and then went to retrieve and clean up out door cooker which is now back in its own little space on the back porch. Now 'tis chill time. Dindin will be steamed shrimpies (we stopped and got that whilst we were out), a green sallit and garlic cheesey bread.

Lily such things are caused by TVCTPMO. This stands for the vast conspiracy to piss me off. This is a favorite MUMPER meme brought to us by BBBobbio.

I shall not rest until I know the new mattress is properly in place.

The new mattress was in place shortly after 11. We covered it in fresh linens, then headed out for lunch. While out and about, we ran some errands, filled the car, and ran the car thru the car wash, since some evil flying creature crapped all over it. I’m about to fold the clean and dry load of unders, my sweetie is trying out the new mattress, and life is good!

Plus I just had a little dish of ice cream.

I must have been running a serious sleep deficit. No help from Mel or anyone similar, and I slept for at least twelve hours (not sure when I went to bed). It’s been a seriously busy week, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

I have nowhere I need to be until Monday morning. This “weekend” concept is really throwing me. What do I DO with two days off in a row?

Debating total slothdom today. OTOH, some groceries kind of need to happen. I’ll figure it out when DH gets home from work. Hopefully, he’ll do so without having bought some nifty toy (why in the world did we need a metal detector?). Some laundry should happen in the not-too-distant future. We’ll see.

Thanks FCM, that is a good perspective to keep.
swampbearIt does sometimes feel like a vast conspiracy.

I spent some lazy time on word puzzles and mindless tv. Now I feel the judgement of my Fitbit, but I don’t care. I’m still neglecting my crochet projects, but none of them have a deadline so it’s all good. Husband and I are having date night at an escape room later. I have pineapple in the fridge. Things are looking good today!

Seanette - My husband is also a perpetrator of seemingly random toy and gadget purchases. We are the proud owners of a fancy food slicer that has only been used twice (turns out it’s a pain in the ass to clean), a deep fryer, a huge yoga ball, a lamp that twinkles in a variety of colors, and bazillions of packs of index cards that were apparently too good a deal to pass up. I sigh heavily when Amazon packages show up on my doorstep.

Laundry is in, folded/hung up, and put away. We had a pretty big lunch, so no supper for us. **FCD **has napped - I think the new mattress will work just great - he slept longer than he intended to, so yay!

When I was hanging out the laundry, I noticed that a large dead tree had fallen on the fence between the back yard and puppy freedom. If she was clever, she’d figure out that she can escape by climbing on the trunk. We’ll need to get out there with a chain saw and chop up the part over the chain link, then pull the fabric up above Higgs’ climbability.

Tomorrow’s supposed to be in the 60s - I want to get out there and start picking up sticks in the front and back yard. If my sweetie drives the tractor and drags the wagon around, I can load it with branches and such. We’ve got enough woods that we can dump them and never notice them. Plus fresh air and sunshine!

It’s been a good day!

Nettie, wait until you lose an earing, then he’ll be your hero!

Went for a trail run. Ummm, late afternoon trail runs in the late winter while heading West on a sunny day is not the best of ideas as it really hard to see where you’re trying to put your foot between the blinding sun & leaves & twigs & such. I knew where I was but couldn’t find the specific trail out that I was looking for; eventually found it.

When I got back to my car & “accidentally” turned left which took me past the bar that had on their marquee a beer I wanted to try. I sit & ask for a water & a Dogfish 60 minute IPA. He bring the water & goes to pour my beer. By the time he turns around the water was empty. He asks if I was running, I say, “Yes”. He asks if someone was chasing me, I said, “no”. His response was, “Then what the Hell were you running for?” :dubious:

After a shower it’ll be veal tacos for dinner, by request.
