Time for breakfast in the MMP

Happy Firday!

Another sleepless night.

It’s a sunny 33 degrees out, with a high of 36 predicted. Sunday is supposed to get up to 65. Crazy weather.

Twenty more minutes of irk, then I will start the dishwasher and take a nap.

blurf at irk of course. Tgif

This mornin’ I have been to the church house, cut up fifteen pounds of catfish fillets into strips, cleaned up the mess I made, and set up for tonight. I have also washed, dried and put away two loads of laundry. Go Me! Now I shall partake of N.O.L. and perhaps accomplish a little nappage.

ETA: Cole slaw has also been made. Double Go Me!

My eyes haven’t changed much since last year, but I’m getting new specs since my insurance is super good - I’ll have a spare pair! Progressives, transitions, assorted coatings, frames, and an exam, and all it cost me was a $10 copay. Without insurance it would have run over $900… or so they said. Anyway, I’ll get the specs in a couple of weeks.

We went to lunch at DQ - I really like their mushroom-swiss burger. And desserts were BOGO, so **FCD **got a 'nanner split and I got a peanut buster parfait. Good lunch, and no dishes! YAY!

What to do now…??

JDD called me a little while ago and asked me if I wanted to see sump’n he got out of his brother’s house that will make me want to have clutchin’ pearls, faintin’ couch, and smellin’ salts handy. Well, now, just HOW does one resist a temptation like that! It was the inside of bro’s refrgerator. The refrigerator, mind you, that JDD bought for him less than a year ago. A nice Maytag refrigerator. It was filled with what has to be bug droppin’s. :: clutches pearls:: :: falls on faintin’ couch :: :: revives with smellin’ salts :: This is the first time I have wanted to go grab JDD Bro by the collar and say WTH IS THE MATTER WITH YOU!!!

I did some Netflixin’, watching a show about Misty Copeland, the first black principal dancer in the American Ballet Theater. What I found most amazing, apart from her incredible talent, was that she didn’t start ballet till she was 13!!! Definitely an incredible talent.

Salmon for supper - not sure how I’m going to prepare it - gonna look at a few recipes for ideas. Beyond that, just a lazy day. I didn’t do anything I said I’d do. Lazy me!

Movies for me, tongiht and tomorrow, will be silent, the Kansas Silent Film Festival. I go for as much of it as I can every year.

I’ve never seen the silent version of Beau Geste, but The Battleship Potemkin is perhaps the first silent movie I ever saw, when I was still growing up on a PBS station. All I remember is the massacre on the Odessa steps, and the final scene, so I am really looking forward to the whole program.

Of sourse I have to work tomorrow morning, but I’ll go in early enough to get the work done before the movies start.

FCM, I won’t have time to cook, can I come to your place for salmon?

YUK! Swampy

I didn’t get off irk when scheduled, I got a long call right before my shift was over. I got the dishwasher going but no nap.
I found another job I am going to apply for. Not quitting the current job, just something else to do.

I saw on FB that one of my cousins died today. I barely remember her, she was closer to my mother’s age. I just remember she was the glamorous one, always dressed up, and with her hair done.

Baker, that sounds like fun. Do let us know which ones you were able to catch.
swampy, there are not enough pukey smilies for that story. ::shudder::
Since I slept past 7 this morning, I see no need to run off to bed just yet. Time to play an all-absorbing full screen game.

Salmon was good, but just 2 fillets, sorry. I found a super-simple recipe - spread dijon on the fillets, top with italian seasoned breadcrumbs, and drizzle melted butter on top, then bake at 400° for 15 minutes. Very yum! Accompanied by broccoli and instant smashed N.O.T.s (judge not!!) The dishwasher is now going.

I suggested loading the trash and recycling in the car so we could go to breakfast, then drop it off at the convenience center, completely forgetting that our bed is scheduled to be delivered between 8 and noon tomorrow. Glad my sweetie is more on the ball than I am! The rest of tonight shall be pretty much wasted. Except for ice cream later. Yay!

I’m really looking forward to The Thief of Baghdad, starring Douglas Fairbanks, tonight.

They burned part of the set for Gone With the Wind.

Then eat the breadcrumbs and broccoli.:dubious:

Philistine.

Well in his defense, it is the South. Bug droppings are almost factory installed.

Playing around the edge of a really good cold and sore throat. Considering who I want to kiss once I’m sure I’m contagious.

Howdy Y’all! Home from fish ‘n chips over to the church house. We done good! We had a fish feast and there was plenty for everyone. I haz mad guestimatin’ skilz!

In JDD’s Bro’s defense, he has been dealin’ with colon and liver cancer for about five years. Also, there are some definite signs of dementia. Still, between him and sorry ass thing he lived with, I’m sure some level of sanitary could have been maintained. I suppose the fridge could be cleaned up enough (though I am sure that much bleach does not exist) for use but I would never want to use it after what I saw.

Da bear is tahrd so it’s off to sleepy land shortly. I will need to go to the church house tomorrow to retrieve my cooker but that will happen when it happens.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Firday mornings someone usually brings brekkie into irk; bagels, donuts, danish, & or fruit salad types. So of course I don’t eat much at home this morning. When I get in, none of the normal is there but there is a big box of tomato pie; not 'zactly what one thinks of for brekkie & not to be confused with flytrap’s favorite - leftover pizza. Apparently someone brought in/had delivered boxes for a number of depts but we don’t know who it was.
Therefore I walked over to the cafe & ordered up some of the red velvet pancakes with mini choc chips & whipped cream cheese topping. Since that is a ridiculous amount of carbs, I got an egg & cheese samm’ich to go with it for some protein balance.
I got an email that today would have been Levi Strauss’s 187[sup]th[/sup] b-day (swampy was remiss in warbling) so I’m celebrating by wearing a pair of jeans instead of sweatpants right now.
Surprisingly low-key weekend looks to be in the offing, which is good because I have lots of videos to do.

Philistine.

I have cleaned too many aquariums to eat fish.

Instant mashed potatoes* are treif.

Hahahahahahahaha  hope it is a false alarm. Off to finished reading. Padding my post count. Hahahahahaahaha:D
