We’re having some pretty serious weather today (snow, then ice rain, then rain,) but not as bad as some people out there.
Doing some work at home today before heading out to a rehearsal this evening.

Looks from the weather map that the storms have pretty much left Ali-Bama and are on the SE Coast…but more rain is in the forecast for this afternoon.
All y’all be careful out there.
I think I mentioned on here that my retirement trip this year was going to be to China. Well, a good friend who owns a Travel company had a cancellation, so instead it appears that I am going to South Africa-Zambia in mod-2016. In a way this is good, it’s less expensive and it’ll let me have a year getting my retirement finances worked out before taking on a bigger expense…and I’ll be with friends.
So heading South o’the equator again.
Restless sleep, with bad dreams. I woke up feeling irritated with Husband because he made me angry in one of my dreams.
“Is this one of those times we had a fight and I wasn’t there?”
Some “day off”. Gotta go take a test, then go to a meeting.
Start the new job tomorrow.
At least this one has that odd thing called a “weekend”. Once it becomes permanent, it also has those bizarre things called “paid holidays” and “PTO”.
Busy busy morning, including a call from FCD’s surgeon’s office - he was supposed to go in for his follow-up appt and he forgot. I kept asking him when it was and he never had an answer… I am surprised they didn’t call with a reminder. Anyway, his problem.
Lunch break. Whew. I need it. And tomorrow’s my Firday, so huzzah for that!!
Got my new drivers license and ran some other errands. Now its relax before work mode.
Happy Hump day!
It’s a rainy, dreary day.
I feel like hell. I had a weird dream and couldn’t get back to sleep - just another one in the series of recurring dreams I have from time to time. Actually, two recurring dreams combined together.
We had some light thunderstorms last night, but most of the really nasty stuff went south of us. TWPTB are calling 100% chance of rain during drive time this afternoon though. Joy!
I have thunk ‘til I can’t thunk anymore so I’m callin’ it the end of the irk day. 'Tis 60 Amurrkin out, cloudy, and very windy. Things look alright around da cave but neighbors have pine limbs all over their yahd. Poor things. Yet another reason I’m so glad I got rid of the pine trees in da yahd.
We shall have soup ‘n sammich over to the church house this evenin’ so it’s a no cook night. YAY!
I’ve done everything Jason gave me to do. He’s not here. I’m done.
Evil storms enroute - hope I can at least get to the car before the skies open. I have an umbrella, but that doesn’t help against horizontal rain.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that happens too.
w00T! on the trip. It sounds awesome.
Yay on new job! And also on the “weekends”. I understand that they are wonderful.
So, on my front, things have been eventful. I reported the sexual assault of my son to the police. Turns out CPS had lost the event report, no nothing at all was happening. Spent the entire day with police, in interviews, in interviews with kiddo and police. I won’t say much about the other child except that he was much older, he has a history, and it sounds like he picked up the behavior at home. Just a rotten mess all the way around. I hope he gets help too. But I don’t want him anywhere near my son or any other children!:mad:
At one point the police officer asked me if I were mad. I said at the time, no, sunburned (waited outside for almost 2 hours at one point) and upset. But, yeah, thinking about it, i sure am mad.
I’m taking kiddo to the counselor today and we’ll take things from there.
I feel like all I do is dump drama on y’all. I appreciate all of the chatter. it’s a nice connector to life outside my drama party.
Here’s hoping there’s a lot less drama from this point forward! (For everyone!)
My next door had (note the past tense) a patio table and four chairs in her back yahd. The storm turned it all into a mass of beat up metal and broken glass. Bless her heart in the good way.
{{{sunny and kiddo}}} glad you’re takin’ him for counselin’ and I hope they finally get that guy off the streets. He may need help but your son and other children need protection.
GUESS WHO IS GOING TO WASHINGTON STATE??? This girl. Yay!!!11!! I am so excited. I will be going 6-10 June for a Joint Services Travel Program Training and it will be all work. These things really get their worth out of attendees with classes scheduled from 0800-2200 most days but at least I will get to see a little bit of Washington.
I will be staying at the base at Bremerton and it’s an hour ferry boat ride away from Seattle. Surely they will take us to Seattle.
Just got an alert that isn’t seen too often in these parts: Tornado Watch! Until 23:00.
Yea Butters!! Hope you get to Seattle, I rather like the city.
Spidey y’all be careful. Do they have tornado sirens in your neck of the woods? (we do).
FCM, just looked at the NWS doppler up near you and MD does not look very…hospitable…right now. Take care driving.
{{{{sunny and kiddo}}}} Like you, hope the other kid gets straightened out, but the health and safety of your child takes precedence. Hope the counseling helps.
And sunny, I hope my trip will be great; I got to Egypt due to work many years ago, and I went to Kenya-Tanzania while working overseas in 2001, but never been to the southern end of the continent. And going with friends is a big bonus. But more 15 hour plane trips…ugh.
And that’s all for this irk-day.
I got home safely, and mostly the rain wasn’t too bad. **FCD **wants to go out for fried chickie, so once we feed Higgs, we’ll head to Kevin’s. I’ll probably have shrimp because their shrimp is mega-yum!!
Other than that, nothing exciting.
{{{sunny & sonny}}} - just wow. Good thoughts coming to you and your young 'un!
**Butters **- 0800-2200??? Holy crap on a cracker!! They barely allow you enough time to sleep. Glad I don’t have to do that kind of stuff any more… Bad enough I have to do the on-line training, which I’ve been ignoring in anticipation of getting the new job.
I don’t always care for typical breakfast fare in the morning (work week). I more often than not have leftovers from the night before. That was the case this morning. I had a tupperware bowl of sliced cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, green onions and honey roasted sunflower seeds in a Zesty Italian dressing. It was delicious.
That is correct FCM I will be exhausted each day. I have been doing research. I know this sounds silly but I want to see some big trees. The Olympic national park is about 3ish hours away and they have big trees. I really hope I get to see some big trees. There is a ferry boat that goes from Bremerton to Seattle and it’s free. I do not like to fly but fly I must so I will have adult beverages to relax. I will miss my little fellow but I can talk to him on the phone each day and dad will send photo’s each day. Yes, I am one of those people who loves her dog! Too much. I am so excited. My job is a PIA but I will be able to say I have been to Washington state. Still haven’t been to DC. Maybe one day. All youse having bad weather please be safe and heed the warnings.
**Metal Mouse ** You had a very interesting career that you got to travel to so many places overseas. So far my irk has sent me on either 3 or 4 cruises and the only overseas locale was Mexico both the Riviera and the Gulf sides. Mexico is beautiful. I will never forget I was trying to take a picture of a little kid in Mayan garb and his mother got most angry. In hindsight I should have asked but no habla espanol. She snatched that kid up and gave me the evil eye and ran away like I was the Devil. I think that was Puerto Vallarta. Or could have been Mazatlan. The old memory isn’t what it used to be. Even on these cruise trips we worked from 7 or 8 am until 10ish with a group dinner. Last year I sent my Lead on a training to Orlando and she gets it is not all fun and games but Washington is mine, all mine.
It’s been a rough two days.
Chicken for dinner tonight, baked with the leftover sauce from the meatballs. I sprinkle some mozzarella and Parmesan over it right before it gets done.
I hate mice, I set traps and put them where the mice run. The mice push the traps out of the way.
I’m a little upset with the neighbor, although maybe I shouldn’t be. She has been missing a window for over a year now, big gaping hole in the wall, which I suppose isn’t really my business, but I keep thinking it can’t be good for my side of the house.
I don’t know if the tornado watch is up here. We have downpour with thunder and lightening. Part of the gutter is overflowing, part on her side and part on mine. So far it’s landing in the yard but it’s close to the bilco doors. We’ll have to check the basement. I don’t know what to do with that part of the roof, it’s over the patio and about 4 feet of it is mine, the rest is hers.
