Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 91 and accordin’ to the weather PTB rain/tstorms/apocalypse later this afternoon. No irk today but mowage shall ensue as it must be done. I plan on gettin’ started around eightish and be done by tennish this mornin’.
Other than that, no big plans for today. OYKW wants to have N.O.L. at Ryan’s [del]hog trough[/del] Buffet so we shall. I have a poke loin in da fridge that I need to prep for tomorrow, as well as make a corn sallit and slice up some zucchini and yellow squish to bake. Tomorrow’s plan is cee-mint pond time followed by a dindin of poke loin, corn sallit, and baked veggies.
OK, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day!
We finally got our rain last night, with thunder and all. I slept thru most of it, but I did hear the pitter patter of raindrops before I dozed off. **FCD **said it went on for a while, but I was out.
I’m going to have to tell my sis that we won’t be coming to her party tomorrow. Poor **FCD **has been trying to hack up a lung since Tuesday. I thought he was getting better, but this morning, he sounds terrible! No way he should be around a big group of people, not to mention the long drive there and back. I’m kinda glad - I don’t particularly enjoy social events that include excessive alcohol consumption. So she’s getting a call a little later.
Meanwhile, we’ll be driving out to Manassas in a little while to look at and perhaps buy a motorcycle lift. Beyond that, who knows what the day will bring??
**swampy **- do you ever cook for same-day consumption? Or do you just like leftovers?
Yeah, rose, just blurf. Just glad it’s Firday. Cloudly with a chance of rain (that’s been our forecast all week here), so my soccer refereeing this weekend is up to the parks and Rec folks. I swear, they think athletic fields are to be pristine places and never, ever get torn up by ruffians and children actually playing on them in less than perfectly dry weather. Or else they might have to work on keeping them in condition.
Happy Firday!
Or looking around the room it should be Furday.
Time to vacuum.
A nice cool breeze is coming in the window. I hope I can keep them open.
Lots to do today. Have to go grocery shopping. I found out the Weis up here will let you order online and then go pick them up. Works for me.
We have a Ryans Buffet here too Swampy. When I first checked it out I told my friend that I was so tired and I wanted a sit down restaurant. I thought name like Ryans would be burgers, barbeque and ribs. Nope, a buffet, but it’s pretty nice. My friend loves their fried chicken.
** Seanette**, Da rat has a ball but I can’t find the top of it, so she goes in the bathtub when it’s cage cleanin’ time. ( that’s one of the things on my agenda for today, along with house irk and errands ) I’m going to see of I can find the folks a set of steak knives, I need to go to the library & the tobacco shop & I think I am going to make another Boston creme cake for Sabbath, so I need stuffs for it, PB made me a lovely omelet for brunch, so after I eat, it’ll be time to get crackalackin.
Sario, maybe you can go out for an early dinner after the blood irk?
BooFae Glad im indoors doesn’t gotta get a whuppun’ What changed his mind?
Howdy Y’all! We’ve been bzzzy bears this mornin’. Mowage, haircuts, and N.O.L. have been accomplished. Go Us! The haircut place was surprisin’ly not busy when we got there but that was changin’ when we left. We got in and out of there in fifteen minutes. YAY!
I say that’s enough accomplishment for now. I foresee nappage and sloth time for a while this afternoon.
MOOOOOOM I prefer to prep stuff ahead of time. Some things like the corn sallit need to be made the day before cause it’s better after it sets overnight in da fridge. Same with marinatin’ the poke loin. Also with the veggies I’m bakin’ up tomorrow. They’re better sliced, seasoned and sealed in a plastic bag overnight in da fridge. This is also a thing that would make June Cleaver proud.
Groceries have been ordered and can be picked up at 4.
I need to get some lunch since I never ate breakfast. I have a little bit of steak, tomatoes and rice left over so that can be lunch. Or maybe the slice of pizza?
I’ll be at the fair again tonight (and I WILL have that poke chop on a stick) registering voters and going to the judging in the arts building ( I have entries). The weekend will be busy with a volunteer gig tomorrow morning, Shakespeare in the Park tomorrow evening (Henry V) and an origami class Sunday morning.
I’m gonna take a nap after I duck out of irk early.
Nappage has been achieved and the corn sallit made, poke marinatin’ and veggies sliced up for tomorrow’s big eats. Tomorrow shall be a day of leisure at the cee-mint pond followed by an early dindin for several folks. Looks like it will be a perfect day for that.
We’re back, and the new lift has been set up, loaded with a bike, and hooked up to air. **FCD **is about to do an oil change. I’m about to gather all our whites and do a load of laundry. Can’t be running out of unders!!!
Then I need to pack for tomorrow. My sweetie’s feeling lots better - I guess the cold has run its course. I’ll be leaving fairly early, and he’ll follow whenever.
**MetalMouse **- could it be perhaps that the Soccer Mommies don’t want their precious babies to get all muddy and icky?? Perish the thought!!!
Dindin shall be forage for whatever whenever. We’s both still stuffed from grazin’ at Ryan’s [del]hog trough[/del] Buffet.
sari your friend is right about the fried chikin. 'Tis always good at Ryan’s. Plus I got to eat a lot of pinto beans (followed by the requisite fartfest). I never fix pinto beans cause nobody I know outside of me will eat 'em. I lurves me some pinto beans!
Home from the vampire’s, stopped at a drive thru for chicken sandwich for a (very) late lunch. I’ll likely find something small and quick for dinner, don’t know what yet.
FCM, i think it is more the Park and Recreation mindset; I’ve refereed games in downpours here (the rain came after the fields had been open awhile) and while the parents got soaked, none ever asked me to call the game (the kids absolutely LOVE playing in the rain and mud). Now if there is Thunder or Lightning in the area, we STOP. As should everyone (I’ve seen some youth baseball try to play with dunder-boomers in the area–madness).
