Check with the utilities, some will drag off the corpse and pay $50.00 for doing so.
Strange they had a 33" unit in stock, the standard size for fridges is 35"–of course, my opening is 33", and no body has one when the magic smoke escapes…
Our old one was just under 36" and getting it in and out was a challenge. I like having more space beside the fridge.
Leftover, thawed-out lasagna for supper. Cornish game hen tomorrow.
Oh yeah, and the ice maker is working. YAY!!
Once a young whipper snapper thought he could give me a little bit of grief.
I was sitting at a left turn red light and he stopped next to me, way back from his straight ahead red light.
He looked at my friend (a black man), looked at me, looked back at my friend and started shaking his fist at me.
I rolled the passenger window down, looked him right in the eye and said,
I am 50 (whatever 50 I was at the time) and I’ll be damned if some punk ass kid is going to tell me how to live my life. I’m old enough to be your mama and you need to show some respect because you ain’t too old to get your ass whipped.
He moved on, and stayed off my lawn too.
I supposed most irk places wouldn’t approve of ass whipping?
I already know he’s going to whine and complain about how everyone picks on him about “every little thing”, since I was “treated” to such a whimper-fest when our lunch breaks overlapped yesterday.
I don’t care about his widdle feelings. He’s at least chronologically an adult, and I see no evidence of any genuine developmental issues, just an attitude problem. I won’t be outright mean, and WILL treat him fairly (civil, expecting the same of him as I do anyone else I’m lead over, etc.), but I’m not out there to be everyone’s buddy. I want to get along with people, yes, but not at the expense of meeting my responsibilities. In the breakroom, I’m social. Out on the sales floor, I don’t mind being friendly as long as the work’s getting done right. If it isn’t, professional needs come first.
I’ll take advice, yes. It’s been months since I was on a register in that store, and I know I have things to learn. Another cashier needed to walk me through an exchange (hadn’t done it before), but she was able to do it in a helpful and professional way. I’m grateful to her for her kindness and patience in doing so. There ARE ways to teach the new lead things she needs to know, and snapping commands or just pushing her aside to take over are NOT on the “acceptable” list. Also, it helps if you’re doing your own job correctly before you take it on yourself to teach someone else her own more advanced job. Personal insult is WAY over the line.
Physical violence wouldn’t be a great move for a middle-aged woman with vision and occasional mobility problems vs. a quite healthy young man, but it won’t be necessary. I have better ways to deal with him, including our supervisor. She’s a nice lady, but in a “take no crap” way that I admire.
I’m going to bring my weekend to a close. Reclinage and crocheting will finish my day.
MWAH!!
Watched football. Packers lost the game, and Jordy Nelson. Went to the grocery store, One of the bunnies was by the sidewalk. He gave me the evil eye went I yelled “Kill The Wabbit!” at him in an Elmer Fudd voice.
Sari, remind me to never piss you off.
Whew! Everything’s done. This is the first I’ve been home to do more than shower and sleep since Thursday.
I left the play at intermission last night. This theatre company does Shakespeare set in the antebellum or Civil War south. What didn’t work were the accents. I actually was able to follow the French dialog better than the badly accented English. My last French class was 35 years ago and I haven’t used it much since.
Back to the studio.
I doubt if somebody as nice as you could piss me off Doggio, even if you do threaten to kill rabbits.
Besides that wasn’t pissed off, that was funning with the guy.
We had some tstorms blow through this afternoon. Now it’s all sunny out but more storms are likely to show up in a while. I made a chikin pasta sallit this afternoon. It shall be dindin tomorrow.
Thus endeth the weekend.
Dinner tonight is mesquite poke chop with sweet **N.O.T.**s and blackeyed peas with ham and jalapenos. (Mooooooommmm! , x 10[sup]100[/sup][sup][sup]100[/sup][/sup]).
sari, I have my moments.
Singing In The Rain on TCM. Great way to end the weekend!
Now I’m hungry for ham.
I have lunch meat but I want real ham.
Sari you’ve come to the right place. There’s some real hams up in here!
And on that note I believe 'tis beddy bye time.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
Even I had a little ham for supper.
I fixed an odd combo of homemade scattered, smothered, covered, chunked hashbrowns and a salad made up of avocado, cuke, grape tomatoes, feta and vinaigrette. It got the fresh fruits and veggies back to acceptable levels.
Found a new BBQ join in town, got some for lunch. Was pretty good.
I was joining you in that thought but --------- we didn’t get our wish dammit.
(I have two favorite teams – the Vikings and whoever is playing the Steelers.)
Night, all!
