Time Warp MMP

Afternoon, mumpers! Hope the sickies are feeling better today, and I hope Butters is not suffering too much with that poorly aching head. I went to the pub last night with friends, not much alcobobble was imbibed and thus I woke up without an achy head.

Irk is being irksome as usual, I am looking forward to tomorrow afternoon when I leave early and wave goodbye to the entire place until September. Woot!

Up, caffeinated, it’s my midweekend. It keeps monsooning here.

EVERYBODY BE QUIET, **Butters ** HAS A HANGOVER TODAY.

Not a good day.

A close friend over in England was diagnosed with inoperable cancer a couple of months ago and was given until Spring. He apparently fell down some stairs last night and the accounts indicate that he’s not going to make it.

Dammit, I know life is not fair, but it’s being less fair for Tim than it should be; he is one of the good people I’ve known. And his wife Lynn will be devastated.

And I’m stuck 4500 miles away.

TANJ (There ain’t no justice)

Damn.

:frowning: I’m sorry.

Was just about to ask a question in GQ, but quickly did a search first in case somebody had already asked it. And yes, someone had. In fact I had. About 18 months ago I asked the exact same question for almost the same reason.

The mind is the first thing to go…

(((((metal mouse))))) I’m sorry to hear about your friend, it’s so hard to deal with the idea of such awful things happening to the really good people.

'im indoors is so not on my list of good people just now. He emailed me several times this morning about going to Australia, something we’d talked about a few times and had intended to do together. He sent me a variety of options, then went ahead and booked something completely outside the dates I’d given him…so now he has to cancel because I can’t go on the trip for the dates he’s booked.

But the airline has now told him he can split the ticket and only cancel my half. So he is seriously considering a three-week trip to Oz by himself. I am far more hurt by this than I thought I would be, but I am pretty sure he won’t even have thought about that. His last email comment on it was that with the airline points he’ll accrue, the trip will almost be free. That’s what rankles. He is putting the airline points and the resulting gold card above us doing something together that we’d planned out various times in the past. I could jus punch him in the throat right now.

stomps off to make a cup of very strong tea

I opened up FB this morning and found out the Older Sister’s Brown Dog Jasmine died yesterday. :frowning: She found her walking down the street shortly after she got married (my sister, not the dog) and since nobody claimed her they kept her for the next 16 years. Jasmine was a good dog.

Took Gordie for a nice long walk. I’m having a cheddar n sun dried tomato omelet with garlic sauteed portabellas and (non-nekkid)bacon for brunch.

“The first two things to go are your mind, …and something else.”

Awwwww.

HOW ARE YOU FEELING TODAY? BUTTERS
[/QUOTE]

Jeez, could you keep it down!

((((Metal Mouse)))), Boofae I’d be madder than a wet setting hen too.
((((Jasmine’s friends and family))))

Here’s hope all the sickies feel better soonest including me. I over imbibed last night at my niece’s place on the the Key of Marathon. Good company and even better shots. Had to get it out of my system. Irk is enough to drive one to drink. Poor Hubs was the DD.

Flytrap Here’s hoping it goes smoothly and with minimal painp.

Hope you’re able to eat apples and carrots again soon, flytrap.

butters, I never met Cooter Brown, but I think he’d be dang fun to party with. :stuck_out_tongue: Glad the hangover gods weren’t too tough on you.

RIP, Jasmine.

I didn’t think I’d ever get out of my town to the freeway this morning. There was a tractor trailer that took out a guardrail at my first intersection of a street that would take me to I40. Like everyone else, I turned around, since the whole intersection was blocked by the accident, the emergency vehicles and the tow truck. At the intersection at the other end, there was an accident as well that blocked everyone from going through. This time, I cut through the parking lot at OfficeMax and made an illegal left turn onto the street that would get me the !@#$ out of Dodge.

I actually made it to irk on time.

Working from home again today. No child care. My son’s school just told me that due to misplaced paperwork he isn’t starting today, he is starting on the 15th. He is devastated of course.

Other than that, I am off the scooter thing and stomping around in a boot.

Summer is definitely winding down. It seems like just last week it was still light out at 8:30 and now it’s dark.

Not a minute too soon as we (the residents of Northern California) wander around in a smoky haze. I really hope this El Nino hopes the reservoirs and ground water. And the not burning up.

Happy Friday eve.

Cooter Brown, sometimes given as Cootie Brown, is a name used in metaphors and similes for drunkenness, mostly in the Southern United States. Cooter Brown supposedly lived on the line which divided the North and South during the American Civil War, making him eligible for military draft by either side. He had family on both sides of the line, so he did not want to fight in the war. He decided to get drunk and stay drunk for the duration of the war so that he would be seen as useless for military purposes and would not be drafted. Ever since, colloquial and proverbial ratings of drunkenness have been benchmarked against the legendary drinker: “as drunk as Cooter Brown” or “drunker than Cooter Brown.”[1]

Getting back to the OP, we all did the time warp at my daughter’s wedding reception this January past, led by Bride and Groom, me and the Mrs, elder daughter and son-in-law, and the rest of the wedding party. I want to time warp back to that.

Hey all. waves

Sorry I haven’t been around here much lately. Been working on some big music projects.
