Patrick. Fine with me. Seeing him in a Speedo scarred me for life. I’m just glad my boy Rob got an execution and will be around for another week.
People seem to be leaning toward Dorothy or Elavia as being the Mole. Dorothy, because she’s quiet, and she’s eating an apple in the opening credits (whatever). Elavia because she has that suspicious look. Too obvious. After the last run, I’m having trouble figuring out who it is. I didn’t suspect Kathryn until near the end the last time around. Still, Al seems to be doing the “player” thing, and that could be an initial strategy. I’m going to keep an eye on him over the next few weeks.
I love Rob. And Dorothy. I also liked Lisa but then she got executed. I used to think Patrick was cool, wearing the skimpy underwear even though it was really cold and he’s an old dude, it showed he had team spirit, but he kind of came off as a jerk, tearing up the diary pages. AND costing the team money at that. (So did he tear up his own diary after Katie gave it back, or was it her diary he tore up? I wasn’t clear on that.)
Personally, I am of the opinion that the mole is…(and yes, this whole thing is an excuse to use the spoiler function, for my first time)
Katie. She seems so emotional and a weak player, that it would be totally a shock if it were her. Maybe they hired a really great actress to play the mole, because if she is acting, she’s doing a good job, coming off as vulnerable. And who would expect the mole to have a stuffed cow? I thought Dorothy seemed too obvious.
I was originally on the Katie for Mole campaign but changed my mind to Dorothy over the weekend. Katie is now my second choice.
Zoggie, FYI they purposely do not pick any actors. All it takes is one person to say “Hey, I was in acting class with so and so” or “I think I saw so and so in an Off-Off-Broadway show”. They want the Mole to fool everyone including their own friends and family.
I am glad Patrick is gone. He was a Yankee fan and a jerk (or is that the same thing?). Go Al (Met fan)! The diary he tore pages out of was his but became Katie’s in the begining of episode 3.
I don’t understand why people would think Dorothy is the mole especially after last night. She pulled those two answers out of her ass, and as the mole, she shouldn’t have done that. I didn’t understand Katie’s logic with that. She was saying that Dorothy’s answers made her suspect Dorothy, but I would think it would be the opposite. I’m sticking with Katie as being the mole.
I still think Katie is too stupid to be the Mole. My pick is Myra. I don’t know why. It’s just a Spidey-Sense kind of thing.
I was surprised that Lisa bought the farm in the first episode last night.
They were making Patrick out to be such a bad guy last night that I wasn’t surprised when he got executed.
I really like this show. It’s kind of AMAZING RACE-esque in that you can go fantasy traveling with the contestants. And I do love that Anderson Cooper! Woo-hoo!
Agreed. She’s always blubbering. She bugs me. Her and her goddamned stuffed cow (MeadowMuffin).
That episode actually already aired - it was the last one shown before the show was yanked last fall.
That ripping pages out of his (now Katie’s) journal was low, even if he had indeed been the Mole.
I like how it doesn’t take itself too seriously. Remember that silly laundry challenge from the first installment? However, they need to do some cooler challenges, like last year’s Fortress challenge or the cornfield maze one.
Exactly, Dorothy pulled those answers out of nowhere. As if she knew them all along and wanted to look like a hero to the others. Hence, she isn’t the Mole look at the money she just won for us. You don’t want people thinking you are the Mole.
Their first guess for the “fishing” puzzle was 52. All of a sudeden she decides to guess 90? Yeah ok.
Katie was originally my first pick (2nd now) as the Mole.
If you have the time go to the Mole web site on www.abc.com There is a lot of guessing as to what are the clues. Some are far fetched others are pretty well thought out.

As an example, in the telegram that the Mole sent to the contests. There were numbers on the bottom of the page. The first 13 numbers (excluding the 0’s) spell out “The Mole is Bill” on a telephone keypad. However, why would the Mole implicate him/herself? It seems it may have been a red herring.
Anyway, the Mole didn’t send anything. The producers sent that telegram. They and the writers (Kathryn, last year’s Mole, is a writer for this installment) come up with the clues, and they’re meant for the viewers, not the players.
OK, I see your point about Dorothy, but isn’t the entire goal of the mole to sabotage their chances of increasing the pot? I know she could have come up with the answers to throw them off her trail, but she didn’t succeed in sabotage, which seems to be more important.
Ah. Thanks, NYR407. It does make it more exciting if it’s a real person, I suppose. I remember the girl, Kathryn, last year after one game was crying, and apparently she really was stressed out from everything, not faking, but that probably made her look like she couldn’t be the mole. I guess going au naturel works too.
They probably did try to make Patrick look a bit bad, editing and stuff. They kept showing stuff that made him look utterly ruthless, and I’m sure other people have done similar things, but oh well.
What job does Dorothy have, anyone know? Just curious.
Monster, Kathryn admitted that she sometimes helped the team win money in Mole 1. If you sabotage every game you would be found out pretty quickly.
Scott Evil, I know that The Mole didn’t write the Telegram (bad wording on my part). But the Telegram is written as if it was written by the Mole (same as the Diary). I disagree that the telegram hint is only for the television audience. The players use every bit of information they come across the decifer who the Mole is. That is why Patrick was so interested in the Telegram. He wanted to read it and try to decifer any clues. My theory is that he found “The Mole Is Bill” clue and was executed for it. I would have been more open to the clue if the decifered message gave clues to who the Mole is instead of naming him outright.
Which would imply that Bill isn’t the Mole, wouldn’t it?
“Executed” means “did the worst on the ‘Who is the Mole?’ quiz”. If Patrick thought it was Bill and answered all of the questions with Bill, then he would have been safe. On the other hand, if it wasn’t Bill, he would have the lowest score and be out (unless someone else also had the same low score and took longer).
As for the “Dorothy is the Mole” theory, I’ll point out that in episode 2 she was the one who jumped at the chance to get the last piece of cake; the one without a blueberry which was the key for the next game. Several players commented that Dorothy was a light eater and that it was unusual for her to get a second piece of cake.
Exactly Tansaafl, many people on some of the Mole message boards believe that Bill is the Mole. I, on the other hand, do not.
As you can tell from my other post that I am leaning towards Dorothy. Before Episodes 3 and 4 ran (didn’t watch Mole 2 when the first three originally aired) there was some suspicious behavior by Dot. The “Cake” incident being one of them. Did you also notice that Dot was the one to read from the Mole diary? Interesting??
She also has received more exemptions than anyone. One for the cake, one for the puzzles and I forget the other one she earned. Looking like she needs the exemptions to stay in the game is a good strategy. It also blocks a real contestant from geting the exemption.
But it could be a ploy on her part to look like the Mole. I haven’t counted anyone out yet but I have my top three picks at Dot, Katie (she may be annoying and “the weakest player” but that may be part of her game plan) and Darwin (why not, all of his “partners” have been executed so far.
I would like to hear other theories as to who is the Mole.
Yes, this is exactly what I thought had happened to Patrick. They said he pored over the telegram for hours, there’s a good chance he found the clue and didn’t tell anybody. Then on the quiz he put all his chips on Bill, but WHOOPS it was a red herring from the Mole Ouch!
I see Dorothy attracting a lot of attention, and deservedly so.
My gut feeling on her is that she’s doing a great job acting as the mole, but she’s not the mole. But one more possible supporting argument for Dorothy being the mole is Lisa’s super quick elimination. Lisa was clearly collaborating with Dorothy. Dorothy is cruising and Lisa got bounced right away, and I don’t need to tell you how disastrous it would be to unknowingly enter into an alliance with the mole!
