Tony Snow dies.

All right, I’ll give you that. But if Cheney kicks it, it’s happy-dance time!

Damn Dio , you make me look like a girl scout.

Whom are “they”? The Bush admin? Tony Snow? Republicans in general? Evil people in general? Anyone whom would deign to defend a Republican?

Which makes you an asshole. What he did or didn’t do is totally irrelevant. Your attitude reflects who you are, not who Tony Snow was.

It’s like the assholes who fantasize about torturing terrorists. It’s not about them; it’s about us.

<grammar nitpick>Who are they. Whom are them. </end grammar nitpick>

Sometimes it appears we on the road to becoming Fred Phelps.

Yeah, I can hardly wait for more people with whom I disagree over policy issues to die a horrible death. The more the better. Can we arrange to watch it on YouTube?

If you don’t care what anybody thinks, why are you posting on an interactive message board? Just trying to stir shit up?

Wow, Dio, you’ve officially become Shodan.

Pardon me for just saying “Ditto” to this one.

Well, a “line item” ditto: I reserve the right to hold political viewpoints against somebody who had and used serious political and military power in his own right. He wasn’t Goebbels, he was more spokesmodel, not a policy maker or enforcer. His death benefits nobody and settles no scores and shouldn’t bring visceral satisfaction for anybody.

It is merely one more milestone on a career of angry trolling. Ed has given you the power to end this.

And that, sadly, is all I’m permitted to post.

Just a few months ago, I respected Dio as a man of his convictions. To the point where I felt that he might have the courage to stand by them when he, himself, did not think he would.

I am reconsidering that opinion of late. He has changed, and not for the better.

What the fuck, man? Look at yourself! Do you like that person? If not, then fucking do something about it. Seriously. Go outside, exercise, something. Has something changed in your life? I’m concerned, here.

Una: I sense Lib Flameout here. Do you think we should pit Dio as an intervention, since he said he’s dropping out of this thread?

[Colbert]And both risks are as nothing compared to the ones posed by bears.[/Colbert]

During the Democratic primary, lot of people seem to have suddenly learned something about Hillary that many people had seen all along. Something akin to that is happening here.

I remember the Simpsons episode where Homer is daydreaming about the bad things that could befall Flanders. First no customers come into his store, then the store closes, then he see Ned’s grave with the kids crying. Homer snaps out of it and says “Nah, that’s too much” and backs up to the store closing and being happy.

That’s what Dio needs to do here. It is one thing to have political enemies, but to be glad that a 53 year old man with a family died of colon cancer? It’s trollish and jerkish and there should be a warning issued here if the mods want to be consistent with their recent activity…

It’s only trollish if he’d posting it for the sole purpose of stirring things up. Apparently, he truly believe it, and is surprised others don’t agree with him. Just because you have a strong, negative reaction to a post doesn’t mean that the poster is trolling.

I wouldn’t have thought that Tony Snow’s death would make me sad at all.

It was indirect enough, but still.

Jeez.

Its not trolling when you truly believe the nasty things you say. I don’t care how low your opinion of someone is, and believe me my opinion of Tony Snow is very damn low, you don’t wish pain and suffering and death on someone just because they did things you don’t agree with. The guy was an asshole, now hes dead, why should we care one way or the other.

If people keep referring to what Snow defended as mere political differences, I can see why they don’t understand Dio’s vitriol. But what pissed off Dio and lot of others was not things like bond issues and zoning disagreements. We are talking of what a large amount of people reasonable see as lies that resulted in the deaths of thousands, including women and children.

Agree or disagree with Dio, it’s not honest to simply paint it as simple political disagreement, like a difference over bus discounts for war widows. It is in actuality as deep a moral issue as I can imagine.

Amen, Brother.
