Too Much White Stuff - a Snowy MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 37 out and clear with a predicted high of 57 and cloudy for the day but no rain forecast. So a gray day. No biggie plans for the day which is fine by me. I need to reorganize the pantry so that could be a task to keep me outta trouble for a while. Or not.

Sunny glad to see a post from ya! Here’s hopin’ the surgery took and you are on the way home soonest.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy is hongry. I suppose I should purtify up a bit and then, well, we shall see what the day holds.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Haven’t found the hospital piano yet, eh?
18° out, w/ some [del]snurries[/del] 1-2" expected later.

At 1030 at night you’re making a real meal? You’re a far better man than I, or else you live on late shift. What’s ancho rice? Sounds tasty.

Yaay for alive!! Not that we were worried. Much. {{{ Sunny }}}. And now it’s time to add our hopes for both a good outcome and good healing.

Mornin’ all!

The day here dawns almost clear and 53F on the way to 75. Just a wisp of high cirrus here and there. Got a good night’s sleep despite the large meal. They say our cold snap should fade over the next couple days and by Monday we’ll be back to Dec normal.

Good news on the clothes dryer front. RTFM. Turns out the thing has an overheat sensor with a reset switch hidden on the back. Pull the machine out from the wall, clear all the excess lint out of the machine’s innards front and back, clear out the vent duct, clean the moisture & overheat sensors, etc., push the reset switch, and Viola! Magical healing. Doing this more often has been added to The List.

That was my good deed for yesterday as part of my due diligence *before *calling the repairman. Who says I haven’t learned a trick or two in the last 30+ years? But after, of course, a day’s procrastination. Still got some larnin’ to do. :smack:

First coffee went down quick; time for round 2. SLUUURRRRRPP!! Ahhhh!

Have some putterin’ around the homestead I oughta do today; next two weeks get busy. Or I’ll piss away the day yakking with my imaginary friends. We shall see.

I eat popcorm almost every night. White popcorn made on top of the stove in a decades old popper. Top with melted butter. My favorite meal.

Sunny, I hope you are doing o.k.

Greetings from FCD’s office. I’ve been dentaled, I’ve breakfasted, and now I’m fighting with the drawings for their project. The engineer who’s done the design work isn’t particularly impressive, nor are the title blocks user-friendly, but I’ll get something done.

Not sure how long I’ll work today - we shall see.

Heal fast, Sunny!!!

Happy Firday!!

Yeah Sunny! Get to feelin’ better soon.

flyguy, glad the repair took hold; probably need to pull my old dryer (well, 17 years old) out and check things.

Slept in to 8am again (a habit to which I could become accustomed) and am making my way through the paper to the Sudoku puzzles. Am now going to break fast, and also need to do a little shopping later in the day.

Off today. Goung to the laudnromat, since the washer is in one of its “spin only, no wash” moods.

I’m used to eating late.
Ancho rice: 4 shakes ancho chilie powder, 4 shakes sweet paprika ,a whisper of cinnamon, a splash of sangria ,a half pat of butter, slat, cook according to rice instructions.

Yay for being alive!

Just under an hour to go. The guy I’m doing drafting for is an idiot. It all pays the same…

We’re goin’ out to consume Mexican comestibles. Seems OYKW has a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for fajitas and a big margarita. He’s buyin’ so I’m eatin’.

Blurfage There is a little gym in my building and now there are a group of 6 or 8 teenage boys in there horsing around. My office adjoins that room and they are loud. I have already gave them the stink eye and told them once to tone it down. If it keeps up I shall have to find an errand to run or something. I am not crazy about kids.

The Christmas spirit has took over. I texted hubby about where our tree is so I can put it up. Turns out it was Irma-ed. He told me to go ahead and buy another if I want and he will pay so I ordered one from the jungle with all the crap to decorate it. I ordered him a few presents to go under it and hope to have that all ready for his return by Tuesday. I figure if you can’t beat 'em join 'em.

Yay Sunny for making it through and I hope it is successful and you heal quickly.

TGIF. Got to irk late getting those trains off then WEEKEND.

Yaay swampy; Mexican does sound tasty. Gives me an idea …

Butters, the Firday afternoon errand that runs just a wee bit to long to get back to irk is always a winning move.

As I fumed a bit about upthread I did send the jungle an order for something today; surely they’ll label it Christmas spending in their quarterly financials even though I won’t see the box until Jan. The good news is it was smaller, much cheaper, and more fun than a dryer.

Aw, man, I want Mexican for supper, too, but **FCD **had a big lunch. Dammit. And I’m too tired to go out again anyway. Dammit. I’ll forage instead. Dammit.

Apparently we had flurries, but it was just wet as I drove home. Hope tomorrow’s dry - I need to smoke a mess o’ribs. I’ve got 3 slabs - gotta cram 'em all in there. Normally I just do 2 slabs, but I got a good deal. I suppose I could do one slab in the oven for those who don’t want smoked ribs…

TGIF. I need a weekend.

Yaay weekend.

I’m warming leftover T-day turkey w gravy, leftover couscous from a couple days ago along with fresh veg & salad. It just started beeping, so suppage begins. Wife has set up some recorded NFL for afterwards.

Well, I have now seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Matinee was $5.50, Medium Pepsi and Medium Popcorn set me back $11.50 (of course, “Medium” the way the theater defines it is “Big F****** Huge” anywhere else.

Worth seeing, not sure if it was my favorite Star Wars movie, but it is the best FILM of the eight to date, no question in my mind (hope that makes sense). Got a big comfy chair and six previews (nothing worth reporting on). But if you grew up on Star Wars for the last 40 years, it won’t disappoint.

Now need to collect myself and go out for my weekly ham-n-cheesers w/French Fries and the local mom-n-pop restaurant. A weekend of soccer awaits.

We went to our other favorite Mexican place to sup upon Mexican comestibles. The food there is as good as the first favorite Mexican place but a little pricier. Still it was a good idea IMHO because I have a feelin’ first favorite place has been slammed with folks wantin’ to eat before the big state championship football game in da Burg. I am sure all eateries in and around da Burg are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay busy. This game was supposed to have been last weekend in Etlanner (state championships are played in Etlanner) but due to the Winter storm in Etlanner it got cancelled and for reasons I do not know they couldn’t play in Etlanner this weekend so it came down to coin tosses. Hence the Lee County High School <snerk> Trogans <snerk> will host the Coffee County High School <snerk> Trojans <snerk> in da burg. I am extremely happy I am in da cave and not in da Burg.

But you read Harry Harrison. :dubious:

Even got some popcorn in tonight. The football is down to the 2-minute warning with the outcome not in doubt. Tonight will be an early to bed with (I hope) early to rise following as day follows night.

Hasta mañana.

flyguy :smack:

Yay! May your recovery go smoothly sunny!

metal mouse, it sounds like you’re beginning to get the hang of this retirement gig.

TGIF! Irk is finished for the week. I swung around the drive thru for ribs this evening. I got it home and found pulled poke. :frowning: It wasn’t bad, but I really had my heart set on ribs, ribs is what I paid for ($4.50 more than the pulled poke) and I called the barbeque. I am now on the list for a free rib plate teh next time I’m there. It might well be the last time that I’m there. I completely quit ordering slaw with my meal since they tended to put an order of baked beans in the box instead.

I spent my allowance on Amazon (compression stockings for my decrepit, varicose vein laden legs) and Chewy (dog food, toothbrushes and a toy for Nelson). Now to get ready for bed.

Canes win!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Hockey after work.
