I remember watching Ice Pirates as a teenager in the theater. I was in tears from laughing so hard.
Yeah, but have you seen it recently? It plods, the jokes don’t hold up, the SFX are practically prehistoric – Madame P. and I watched it with my grandson, and he was bored beyond tears, and we couldn’t blame him.
I second this emotion. I rewatched Ice Pirates maybe 6 months ago. The parts a I remembered as funny as a kid, weren’t. And the parts I forgot about were…less than unfunny.

Gotta say, for me it’s Galaxy Quest and MiB, then is a long slide to #3.
For what it’s worth, it seems BACK TO THE FUTURE managed to rack up a better score on Rotten Tomatoes than either of those – and, at a glance, everything else on the list, with the exception of GHOSTBUSTERS (which, as per the OP, is off-limits).
Yeah, well, they’re wrong.
