Topher would have been PERFECT. he’s skinny, geeky, and seems by nature sarcastic. Tobey as Spidey is just so sickeningly sweet it’s just boring.
I once heard someone describe Tobey as playing “Spider-Man on Prozac.” I think Topher could definitely be the perfect Spidey.
And as far as “the article says he’s gonna be a villain,” if you were gonna replace the star of the series that helped save the comic book movie, would you announce it to the world immediately? Keep it secret until you know that it’s final.
