I fail to see what my hormones have to do with this. But yeah, if I stopped reading threads like this with posts like yours, I would probably be less annoyed. I figure it’s a bit like passing a car wreck: you just HAVE to take a look. Oh, and that’s a double negative right there - I’ll make sure I won’t pick on your spelling abilities though.

Errm, you’re welcome, I suppose. Still wondering what tone of voice we’re talking about here though. As for my time, it does seem more valuable than yours - I know I don’t have time to post crap 24/7, but your “computer thingie” job (eloquent profile there, bj0rn !) does seem to provide enough spave to do so. I’m curious what your boss thinks of this…

The definition of “knowing someone,” as it pertains to this site, is that you have read that person’s posts.
If you READ my post, you would have learned that I read through this entire sonofabitchin’ thread, especially the parts that pertained to you. I gathered information about you, and translated said information into my little poem, which I thought was rather good.
So now I have read your posts, and you have read mine. We “know” each other.

bj0rn, as to your last post directed at me: I’m not sure who’s acting like a 12-year-old, but I think the majority here doesn’t think it’s me.
And YES, if you remain incoherent, incomprehensible and inconsistent, people WILL be asking you for explanations. No use in just saying things like “certain tone of voice” (?), “it only matters how YOU understand it”, and “i dont care what you think about my posts”. If (god forbid) you REALLY want to get your message across, be concise, precise, coherent and eloquent. And you really need NOT be a native speaker of the English language to be able to do so. I am Dutch, and did not speak a word of English before I was 12. I’m absolutely sure though, that every single poster on this board understands every single post I submit. And that satisfies me a lot more than having to explain myself over and over, annoying the living crap out of everyone in the process. Take it for what it’s worth.

Just for clarification, calling bj0rn “a stupid european” is not a generalization. It would be like him calling me “a brilliant american.”
(I know that European and American should be capitalized, but this is poetry.)
I would hate for you to think that I took bj0rn as a representative for an entire continent.

Bj0rn, are you aware that nobody has a clue what you’re thinking? And every time you try to justify it, you just get more and more incoherent. How about this: from now on, after you type out your message, take a minute to read it over, and see if YOU can even understand it. If, by some grace of God, you have a clue about what you just wrote, print out a copy and send it to a Harvard etymologies class, asking them to look it over. If they reply a few weeks later and say that they do understand it, translate it into binary code. This should take you about a day. Then think about it for a few months, and if you STILL think that it’s worth posting, translate it back into English. Wait another month. Then you can take a shot at posting it.
I feel that this system will greatly reduce everybody’s annoyance at you, both because your messages will be coherent and because we will have about 6 months in between your posts to try and derive meaning from them.

Give it a try.

Coldfire: You’re cool in my book :). Anyway, your posts are very coherent and understandable. I have had not one problem understanding any of your thoughts. I would say that you are as fluent as anyone can get in English :).

Personally, I’m going to try to ignore what bjorn says. It shouldn’t be hard since i just waste my time trying to decipher what he says in the first place.

Although I have in the past postings in this and other threads repeatedly stressed that most Europeans are WAY smarter and, moreover, better at English (well, except for the Brits that is :wink: ) than bj0rn. Actually, yeah, death to him/you/me does have a new street meaning; or rather it’s a peice of slang me and my friends use often. Implies a sever irritation/wrath with the person so addressed. I slipped and used it in a group of people who didn’t know that. Sorry.

At any rate, hyperbole is the watchword in the Pit, Dingus. You know, if you really intend to spend much time with in here, you should learn not to be so offend with those who flame you back.
