Of course. If I genuinely think someone might be a sock or troll (by message board rules, not just personal opinion), I always report them. But I also sometimes post here to see if I’m just completely off base. I assumed people who actually encountered them would know who I was talking about.
I’m not sure I’ve actually brought up anyone since the software change who I didn’t also report. Maybe YWTF, because I wasn’t (yet) calling her a troll. And my track record in them later getting modded is pretty good.
That’s funny because what made them stand out to me was the can icon, and I had to go back and look to remember it was a fictional drink and not Surge.
Also, didn’t we have a poster long ago whose name was a reference to the HypnoToad?
Huh. Haven’t noticed him around for some reason. Looking at his profile (after you told me the correct spelling), it’s probably the generic H avatar. I could have sworn he went with an actual Hypnotoad avatar.
Now that everyone has them, I notice avatars more than usernames. I already had a habit of glossing over who wrote a post unless I replied to them. Same reason the can stood out to me more than the name for the other guy.
Saying anything that offends liberals or debunks liberals is “trolling”. I’m too effective. I understand that as a conservative I am held to a different standard here and have to pull my punches so as to not upset people too much.
