I know most posters don’t agree with me. So what? The fact a bunch of people believe something does not make it correct - millions of Americans believe Trump won the election, and they are all wrong.

Here, iiandyiiii, is another problem with political correctness. This is not really my problem, but one I have heard conservatives complain about. It’s that progressives seem to have tender care for the feelings of minorities, for example those potentially upset by seeing the word ‘master’ used for a password, but if anyone complains these changes are making their lives more difficult, that they are confused by them, feel anxious and insecure, or just don’t see the benefit, they get told to buck…

Okay, maybe saying you’re not listening isn’t fair. But I feel like we’re going in circles at this point. Either cancel culture isn’t real, or it’s not a problem, or you don’t have any influence on it. Do you honestly think there’s any point continuing the discussion?

But I’ve seen plenty of people on here say they couldn’t possibly compromise on any of their principles, and if that means the Democrats lose again, so be it. Can’t remember if you were one of them, but that shows they don’t really think Trump is such a big deal.

Here’s an example. I wouldn’t have called anything ‘ethnic’ because that’s not really a thing in the UK, but I didn’t know what the (politically) correct term for afro-textured hair was. So maybe I would try and guess a descriptor, or risk using a name that might get me frowned on, or maybe I would avoid discussing it at all. This is a particularly trivial example, true. Why is it that, on multiple occasions, you’ve said something sweeping and negative about me, and then later taken it back? Maybe you’re jumping to conclusions without evidence? Maybe you’re dumping assumptions you have about those whose views you don’t like on anyone who stridently disagrees with you, whether or not they’re accurate in that particular instance?

Whatever it is, hopefully you can take it as another lesson learned.

I served on a submarine and survived an at-sea collision; on top of a full time job I’ve been taking care of a baby (half the work, or probably more accurately, slightly less than half) for the last 7 and a half months or so; I’ve been physically attacked by muggers in the streets of Honduras (and, alone and unarmed, successfully drove them off!)… I think I can handle whatever piddly insults you’re capable of.
