Paul Krugman has an article somewhere that it’s all of a piece. Once you start denying the reality of climate change, or claiming the COVID pandemic is a hoax, or that it was antifa that attacked the Capitol, etc., you’re basically in a post-truth world and will accept whatever your leaders tell you.
