I really don’t see what I’m doing differently than what naita has said to me in the past and what they’re saying to Hajario in this thread. What is so unassuming about naita’s style, exactly?
It isn’t this thread that makes me think you attention seeking, it is your overall posting everywhere. Actually I just barely recognize naita but in a short time you’ve made yourself very well known to the regulars of the board.
I do prefer to talk when I think an important minority position is being poorly put forward. I generally only pipe up for majority opinion when I think an important aspect is being missed, which happens a lot less often. I’m not a contrarian, I merely find being the tenth guy to agree very boring.

You may want to have a look at how your words are actually being perceived and if your intentions are coming across clearly in the written format. Probably you’re much better at this in person.
Well, I’m not pretending that I’m not often antagonistic. Usually I guess I feel like I’m pushing back against a too self satisfied attitude when I do that.

I do not agree. They did the very thing that the thread was complaining about. I can maybe see that the first one was just losing their cool, as it was just one word, “histrionics.” But when they came back and pulled the “you don’t really want it” bullshit, that was too on the nose. That’s literally the bullshit the OP was decrying.
If someone makes a thread about hating something, and everyone agrees it’s bad, and you unironically do that very thing more than once, it’s hard for me to accept that isn’t trolling–at least by the standards we use here, where trolls can still be sincere.
And, again, they referred to the poster as having PTSD. That’s a mental illness. Either they actually think they have that illness, and were being a shithole to them for it, or they were using the accusation as an insult.

The reference to shodan is not true. Shodan got dinged because of inconsistency and the inability of folks to read. And if hajario is not an ettin I’m pretty sure he’s a singular entity.
Nah, Shodan got a pass on years of intermittent trolling because of inconsistency. When the anti-troll enforcement tightened up, Shodan unsurprisingly hit the filter.

It’s a historical fact that Shodan had mod warnings for trolling before his banning, and that several posters had complained about the trollishness of his behavior for a long time.
Reasonable people can have different opinions on what constitutes banworthy levels of trollishness, but an opinion doesn’t become “revisionist history” just because it differs from yours.

Whether Shodan’s banning was fair is a matter of opinion, not of demonstrable historical fact. You certainly haven’t produced any facts to support your own opinion on the subject, just whines that people who disagree with you are “revisionist”.
