Correct. I dropped out of maths in the 1st year at college because I wasn’t good enough (later turned into a biologist). I chose the name out of respect for the great man, and also to try to encourage myself to make the effort to understand more of his work. It hasn’t really worked so far… I just have to live with the self-imposed embarrassment of total lack of comprehension of most of the work of my namesake.
You just set your sights too high. I mean sure I’ve never brilliantly outmaneuvered an enemy army. But then again I’ve also never subjected a city to a horrific sack. I admit I feel oddly good about the latter

The trolling is so obvious from that last thread (woman mom) that I’m surprised the ban hammer hasn’t come down. I mean, once it’s that obvious, you don’t need to rack up the instances, do you?

When called on it, he posts a new article that has nothing whatsoever to do with the origin of the spanish flu.
When I point this out, he apparently does not understand what I’m saying.

Not troll - my impression is elderly, possibly poor eyesight, various bees in bonnet and just muddled/clueless. And I think “she”.
I agree w @Riemann. What’s missing is the malice. Dumb and erratic, but malice is absent. To be sure, they’ve said some things that are politically incorrect enough that some folks can’t imagine anyone saying them without conscious malice. But IMO that’s just youth and inexperience talking.
Not so say 1313 is an asset to our community; far from it. Just that I’m reserving judgement for what seems to be a dodderer. To be sure if they cross the line the mods will stomp and I’ll be cheering them on.
