I feel like my opinions might be so alien here that they come across as trolling even when I don’t intend it.
In my opinion, and speaking only for myself, trolling is about manner, and manners, rather than just content. How are you presenting yourself – snarky and negative and full of zingers, or straightforward and informative? Are you giving reasons for your views, or only reeling off talking points? Are you presuming to speak for more people than just yourself? Remember the primary rule here is: don’t be a jerk. That means following the rules, but it also means more than that – it means treating your fellow posters with respect.
I agree that non-liberal posters here have a tough time in socio-political threads, and you may not always be treated fairly yourself. When that happens you can ignore it, or you can respond to the content but not duplicate the others’ bad behavior, or if another poster broke the rules you can report it. That’s not as satisfying as getting your own digs in, but it is possible for you to earn the respect of other posters (if that’s what you want) even with alien opinions. Not all other posters, but some.

I tried this board years ago but quickly got on thin ice. I’m a long time veteran on a board that has people like me but I know that that is a bubble. We all have bubbles.
So I thought I would try this planet and see what I could see. But it’s not going well so far.
Full transparency, I think Trump is too old and I didn’t support him in the primary but I am for the general. So, that alone will bring the arrows and it’s looks like I’ll just have to take it and not retaliate if I chose to stay. I love biting sarcasm and if I can’t use it, man, I’m defenseless.

But if your beliefs are sincere and you want to discuss them, feel free to start a thread here in the Pit about why you support Trump in the general election. Just be aware that this board is largely comprised of well-informed (and mostly well-educated) people so there’s little tolerance for bullshit, so set your expectations accordingly.
You started off with disingenuous bull shit about how you were concerned about how unfairly Biden was being treated by his party. You weren’t nearly smart to pull it off. Are you going to be honest from now on?
I wanted Biden to stay because it would have been a layup for Trump. And when you look at the guy and see how far down he is but people around him kept pushing him, even I felt a little bad for him even if I disagree with 95% of his policies.

To be fair, many people (including many people here) said in 2016 they wanted Trump to run because they thought it would be an easy win for Hillary.
But none of them pretended to actually like or support Trump. It was always with the understanding that he was a terrible candidate.

I never put those together that way but I see where you are coming from. If “owning libs” becomes so normal, then maybe you lose sight that its “trolling” to others. But we all know that trolling is not exclusive to the right. It’s a common tool used by all sides on the interwebs.

Not here. “Both sides do it” doesn’t make the behavior acceptable here and it doesn’t excuse yours.
Nobody thought you were being “evil” and nobody thought you were being “cheeky.” You’re just one more tiresome troll who thought they’d found an easy target and didn’t realize that we have, as wolfpup said, a low tolerance for bullshit.
