Anyone else watching?
Ding Dong the witch is dead, the witch is dead, the witch is dead WOOHOO!!!
TV Guide spoiled that we get yet another male-male sex dream thanks to drinking vampire blood. This has been trotted out how many times on the show now? Nothing wrong with that, but I’m going to be super pissed if we don’t get a female-female sex dream from the cute fairy chick now that she’s had Jessica’s blood. swoon
Assuming you’re talking about Tara, I wouldn’t count on it since we didn’t actually SEE her die. You don’t kill off a character like that off-screen. And her mother isn’t exactly a reliable witness.
I liked Jessica’s standoff with the vamp outside Andy’s house.
And I liked that Violet was just waiting for Jason to man up and demand a good fucking!
Unfortunately I agree - it just didn’t make sense that a major-ish character died off-screen. Last we saw, Tara was kicking the un-living crap outta the Hep-V vampire. However, for a brief shining moment before that thought kicked in I was honestly happy.
The rest of the episode was very “meh”. It felt rushed, trying to catch us up with everyone in the season opener. I know the dialog on this show isn’t the greatest but it really stunk tonight. Or maybe coming off of a season of GoT it was just more obvious how bad it is.
The best part of the whole show was definitely the stand-off between Jessica and the Hep-V vamp. That was shot quite well and was tense.
They’ve deviated so far from the source material, I can’t imagine it’ll end up the same way. I binged-watched all previous 6 seasons and read all 13 books in a two week period. I can’t imagine what Charlaine Harris thinks, except that her bank balance is hopefully huge.

No Eric = don’t curr.
So I’m waiting for evidence that Eric didn’t actually die. If he did, I’m out. I have faith in Pam though.
I could not even give a flying rat’s ass about the rest of them.
I don’t get it. Why do the people of Bon Temps need a plan any more sophisticated than stay in their homes at night and don’t invite any vampires inside until they die of Vampire AIDS or whatever it is they have?
What was that map he showed Pam, the one where she said, “Eric would never—” was it map of Africa? I wasn’t paying close attention, but it looked like an actual map of where he might have gone.
I thought I saw quick references to France, but I could be wrong.
I saw the Rhone River marked on the map, so it was clearly indicating Europe.
Lettie Mae, already a recovering addict turned Jesus-addict, will be a V addict now, I’m sure.
Does anybody else think that the vampire haters kind of have a really good argument? This isn’t unmotivated racism or prejudice, many vampires really are killers who need to be destroyed.
Eric and Godric were in Gestapo uniforms in one flashback IIRC, and it had to do with werewolves. I wonder if he is with a Wolfpack in Europe.
Last we saw, he was in need of an icepack.
I think they do have a good argument based on what’s been portrayed in the series at least. Almost without exception vampires in True Blood have been shown to either not care about human lives or not be able to control their murderous impulses like Jessica. I can remember that one guy who was supplying Lafayette V in an earlier season, but that’s about it. It would probably be too much to hope for a Godric was right ending.
According to CNN – Tara is dead.
I support Tangent’s theory. Tara’s not dead, despite what CNN or the actress herself have to say on the matter. It would have been trivially easy to finish that fight on screen and actually show us Tara exploding. But we didn’t get that. Why?
Because she’s going to be back. I haven’t checked IMDB, but I’ll bet if I do, I’ll find a spoiler in the form of cast billing for season 7.
Wrong again liberal media!
I wonder if the footage we see of Tara fighting in the premiere was filmed last season, and since they didn’t have a scene filmed of her dying, they just had it happen off-screen rather than bring her back just for that.
I’m suspicious of her death not being shown on-camera as well, but this might be a possibility.
I read an interview with the actress who plays Adilyn, and she said she filmed a topless scene for this season.
Technically, that pile of goo was sans top.
