Fingers crossed!
Just rewatched part of the premiere again, the part where Jessica and the diseased vampire had a standoff. I have to agree with the thread, that part was really well done.

Hello?..Nobody?..
Well, I enjoyed the first five minutes before the opening credits!
The rest of the show? Except for a few short scenes - meh.
The ending? Surprise, surprise.
I agree that the opening, with Jason’s sex dream, was fun, as was his forensic analysis of the day-old pizza based on smelling and tasting it.
I agree, the opening scene was great. Had nothing to do with the rest of the episode, just blatant pandering, but I’m certainly not going to complain.
I wouldn’t be too upset if most of the town of Bon Temps was wiped out, they are almost all pretty annoying. Does the sherrif’s department have wooden or silver bullets? If they don’t, then the guns will be useless.
It was unintentionally hilarious about how nonchalant everyone was about Sookie’s “oh yeah I found a dead body last night” and then they go to check it out, and then just leave it there.
It would have been nice to see a flashback in the empty town, to see how the vampires got all the people, despite them staying locked in their homes at night. Instead we got Sookie reading the diary, and them all looking in the house like that would provide any clues, and then Sookie feeling sorry for herself again.
I thought it was hilarious how the townspeople were doing such a nice job of cleaning up Arlene’s bar but then when they heard that the HepV-infected vampires might be on the loose, started to tear up the place for weapons. (And then they went to the sheriff’s office and demanded the guns, claiming they were entitled to them under the second-amendment.)
The opening scene: meh, pandering. I’m not a gay man, so I wasn’t titillated by that at all, but I’m all for putting a little something up on TV for everyone, so yeah. Rock that love scene Jason and Eric.
Did someone deputize Sookie while I was ignoring True Blood? Since when do sherriff’s departments just let someone tag along on their investigations?
The diary reading was just annoying.
I was just happy to see Eric’s bare chest. I could not even give a flying rat’s ass about every other character, I don’t care who bangs who, or who lives and who dies.
Just keep showing me nekkid Eric.
When Sookie was reading the diary, I was reminded of Gandalf reading the dwarf book in the mines of Moria in the first Lord of the Rings. I was hoping that Sookie would throw in “We can not get out… they are coming.”
I’ll stick around for the rest of the season, but the show has lost its oomph. Occasional fun, but mostly tedious silliness.
I read a review of this season so far, and they said the show is no FUN any more. It’s true. I’ll still watch, of course, I can’t not, but I hope something interesting and/or outre happens before the end.
Pretty much same here. As a straight guy it did nothing for me, but by all means pander. No objections. What’s going to really piss me off, though, is that they’re not going to give us a pandering dream sequence between Jessica and the fairy chick after having done about a half dozen guy-guy wet dreams (and a bunch of guy-girl) over the years.
This show has never shown us any girl-girl dream sequence, and it’s criminal, IMO, to not show us Jessica ravaging that cute little fairy chick.
That may be the last time you see it. At least, the last time where it’s not all disfigured by hep-V.
To paraphrase Courtney Love in “The People vs. Larry Flynt,” I don’t care if Eric’s a goddamn head on a stick, I just want my Eric on True Blood. (I think she actually said, “head in a jar,” which seriously cracked me up.)
I didn’t think much of this episode (except for the beginning), but I was inordinately creeped out by that horrible Lettie May’s vision of Tara on the cross, speaking in tongues? It makes me almost a little queasy. I hope it doesn’t mean Tara is stuck in some hell or purgatory and is trying to - communicate? come back?. Or more likely she can’t move on. Lafayette should find out.
I’m going to complain…about Jason Stackhouse’s lousy sense of stable napping positions. FIVE MORE MINUTES!
Welp. That’s two down, and (?)_____more to go. And a little Kill Bill-ish action. And dear, sweet Nan Flannigan!
That was unexpected. I guess they weren’t kidding when they said they were going all out this season. I am very sad to see Alcide go. I did like seeing Eric getting up to do his best Westley impression. I only wished he had a sword.
What is wrong with Jessica?
I just assumed she had a silver bullet stuck in her.
I think Jessica’s not healing because she hasn’t been feeding. Remember, she skipped out on the whole “one vampire, one human” deal in order to stand guard at Andy’s house. And I think she mentioned something in the first episode about not having fed in a while. Presumably because of her guilt over sucking the rest of Andy’s daughters dry.
Well, Tara’s gone for sure. Pam felt her meet the “true death”, so no more worries and speculating on her showing back up.
I also assumed Jessica had a silver bullet in her, and I was SO glad to see Hoyt’s mother die.
That’s three down, then.
Why were the Japanese looking for Sarah Newlin?
Because she was responsible for contaminating the TruBlood with Hep-V.
I guess I got my answer about Jessica this week. I am a little surprised at how long she had gone. Ten weeks seems like she should have some more adverse effects by now.
A lot of vamps were awake during the day this episode and no one had the bleeds. Maybe that’s not a thing anymore?
I did think Sam letting it slip that people were being held at Fangtasia was stupid. It’s not like he forgot that Rosie was part of the mad mob the previous night.
I was pretty excited to see Hoyt again. I don’t know if they are going to bring him back to town. If they do, I wonder what that means for Jessica. And James. And Lafayette.
By far, my favourite part of tonight’s episode was flashback Eric and Pam. I loved seeing them in the fashions of decades past. Eric’s hair was amazing. And hilarious. I love Ginger. They just ruined her, but it was what she wanted.
