Huh? Why is the hedge-y word “necessarily” there? I don’t think we can expect the straight dope from anyone associated with trump, his care, the hospital, etc. Where are the leaks? We need leaks!
Yeah the situation will get totally non-mask-adelic now with Trump trumpeting ‘aaaaa you’ll just get a cold for a couple days, then you’ll be all good to go again’.
Indeed - a lot more deaths now.
The lesser person in me has to relish how the pandemic is sweeping through the What House now. No - not wishing death, but hoping they’re all hobbled to complete uselessness.
(It’s possible there are quite a few who never saw Sixth Sense.)
Just remember that the frequent timeline of this infection has a mild initial phase followed by a potential crash at one to two weeks. He may go home from the hospital but he is by no means out of the woods for at least another week or two.
I would estimate that Trump was infected late last week and would call Tuesday the first day of symptoms since he reportedly felt tired at the debate. We should definitely wait until at least next weekend to make sure he is OK.
The continued use of the phrase “out of the woods” makes me imagine Trump walking toward a clearing in the forest only to step on a rake and contuse himself like Sideshow Bob.
This is one of a multitude of reasons why the virus killing him is the best outcome. But I don’t believe for a minute that Chump will be released from the hospital tomorrow. That’s just bravado. And even if he were to be, I doubt he’d be in much shape to resume campaigning on any appreciable scale. I think the virus has at the very least killed his political career.
I’ll never be confident enough to predict anything ending Trump’s political career even if he loses the election next month. He’s the Keith Richards of politics.
Herman Cain died 30 days after his symptoms got bad enough for him to be hospitalized- 40 days after the Tulsa rally. Trump might go home Monday, but I’ll bet he’ll be back.
Now, it’s possible that the cocktail of drugs managed to knock back the infection somewhat. But it probably didn’t get it all, and the viruses that it didn’t kill will start replicating again…he might go home and come back later.
It’s times like this that I find it fun to pretend I am both righteous and religious and that the powers of heaven hath loosed the fateful lightning of their terrible swift swords in my service.
Because I think in the optimal scenario, Trump would come home Monday and start tweeting stupid shit about his invincibility. Then he’d refuse to quarantine after the first week, claiming he was out long enough and he’d try to hold rallies but he’d be all weak and faltering and stumbling, then he’d start acting more cray-cray than usual because of the speed and steroids he took to keep going.
Then, about three weeks from now, he’ll collapse completely and be hospitalized again. He’d hang on until November 4th.
