Of course, meaning a cluster of infection in context, but a possible Freudian slip.

When I saw leaders of other countries acting in ways obviously contrary to the well-being of their own people, I really didn’t understand it. I still don’t understand it, but I remain stunned that it’s happening here, and that 43 percent of the country are fucking lapping it up.

I had asthma when I was younger (I seem to have outgrown it somewhere around age 20), and he lookedexactly like me when I was trying to calm myself down and hope that I could avoid a serious attack. I never knew what it was called, but I agree that this looks like, “accessory muscle use.”
I haven’t had an asthma attack in 30+ years, but I could actually feel my chest tightening up while I was watching him. It was so familiar.

If people lying/joking about who has it (at least with WH people), not only will it be easier for them to deny any given person has it, they’ll be able to legitimately call it a hoax (the accusation). That doesn’t seem like a good road to head down. It gives that much more legitimacy to their ‘liberal hoax’ reply to anything that reflects poorly on them.
I’m sure a med tech with supplemental oxygen was waiting for him just inside that doorway once he got done with his “Triumph of the Will” style video clip filming.
We’re soon going to be in a situation where 35% of the country is openly making themselves sick for the stated purpose of infecting the other 65%.
