Actually, Tucker Carlson recently gave an interview where Trump was far more fatalistic.
(My bold)
It’s a real eye opening interview from a very loathsome person who nevertheless has turned on Trump. I’m surprised it didn’t get more discussion on these boards.
I heard the NPR interview with Tucker Carlson, and I got very upset when I agree with things Carlson says. I blame Trump[1].
Fortunately later in the interview Carlson says that the Ukraine provoked the Russian invasion. This was part of a list of things that were said, and was unquestioned by the interviewer. Good to know Carlson is still a complete shithead. Still painful to have to listen to Carlson for 20 minutes, even when he’s talking about how bad of a move it was to attack Iran.
My takeaway from the interview, was that some who supported Trump are realizing that Trump doesn’t care about them. They’re finding out that Trump only cares about Trump, and that Trump will tell them whatever he thinks they want to hear to get their support.
We’ve all known this for a very long time, but it is interesting to hear that it is sinking in with some former Trump supporters who have a platform. Maybe enough people pay attention to Carlson that this will affect Trump’s base in a meaningful way, or maybe it will just cause Carlson to lose more of his audience.
who also made Marjorie Taylor Greene say things I agree with, quite the ability Trump has? ↩︎
If only there wasn’t a nigh inexhaustible supply of equally evil equally bad people who’re just like Miller, Bannon, & Patel ready to step into their shoes. Even if the shoes have their predecessor’s blood on them.
I kind of hope that I’m out in some public place, just going about my business. Suddenly I’ll feel a change in the air. There’s a distant roar. Everyone starts talking to each other. I hear whoops and cheers, laughter and lamentation. Perhaps the sky changes color. It’s obvious something major is happening. And then I’ll know. It’s going to be magical.
My personal hope is that he just drifts off during one of those Oval Office glaze-fests he likes to hold and never wakes up again, because I want to see how long the sycophants keep flattering him before they realize something’s wrong.
The former is worse. The latter means Trump is gone. Vance does not have the weird cult following of Trump so he’ll be relatively powerless. And also, impeachment hearings will be totally meaningless because they won’t go anywhere. I doubt we’ll have many, if any, because impeaching Trump without any actual removal just strengthens his standing (as we’ve seen).
(It’s like the old saying, “When you strike at a king, you must kill him.”)
