Trump is dying

Blaine, WA, which sits on the border with British Columbia, is a pretty little town where we like to eat Mexican food. Mi Esposa gets upset whenever she sees a MAGA hat in the restaurant. (I hope nobody tells them there are  Mexicans working there!) She also points out that the number of BFTs (Big F___king Trucks) has increased. She said Blaine is turning Trumpy. And to be sure, our Democratic Congressman gets a lot of hate on his Facebook posts. (Nevertheless, he keeps being elected.)

Your comment about the diners prompted me to reply. There’s a tiny little diner next to Drayton Harbor Oyster Company, into which we refuse to step foot. It is unwelcoming. There are MAGA decorations all over the place. Our local FB group posted a couple/few of years ago that the owner made several hateful, racist FB posts. I recall that the posts were taken down, and the owner claimed that someone had hijacked his account. (Of course he did.) ETA: Of course someone saved a couple of images.

Anyway, there will be much rejoicing… and also cries of woe.

There’s a sandwich shop in our town that I will not set foot in. I’ve got no problems with businesses that support conservative issues - that’s their right. But when the place names a sandwich after “the greatest president ever!”, yeah, fuck you.

  • White bread
  • Bologna
  • Russian dressing
  • Small pickle

That’s hilarious!

And a boost in poll numbers.

Is it a “shit sandwich”, perhaps?

I’ve got to mention our own local Ultra-MAGA restauranteur, Matthew Oliver. Rocklin is a very red town in a red CA county (Placer). Mr. Oliver manages to outdo even our staunchly MAGA denizens: rabid anti-vaxxer, “Christian” pastor of the worst anti-LGBTQ stripe, bragged of hiring a convicted Jan 6 insurrectionist at his business. An op-ed from the Sac Bee is reprinted at Reddit

and gives a good summary of Mr Oliver’s antics. The two City Councilmen he smeared in his 2023 campaign (Bass and Halldin) are as Trumpy as they come, but relatively sane. Luckily it seems that Oliver turned off even the far right, and he lost the election.

His restaurant is still in business (sadly) but he doesn’t get much bandwidth in what passes for news around here lately.

Speaking of trumpist mourning after The Greatest Day in US History, I wonder whether they’ll want to drive their flag-festooned pickup trucks around with the flags fully up, or at half-staff.

“Macho” and “respect” are two ideas that don’t play well together.

If they did either would it be legal to take pot shots at them? It sure would be gratifying either way.

Kind of like the fall of Sauron. All his minions scatter and flee in terror, his works and edifices come crumbling to the ground…

Go into one and order PIE FOR EVERYONE!

I saw a video this week that was headlined “Did Trump almost fall over, or was that a curtsy?” In it, he’s welcoming Xi at the airport. When introduced to Mrs. Xi he definitely attempts a curtsy.
That had to be AI slop, right? He didn’t really…possibly…did he?

I watched a video of it greeting Xi and his wife. All I saw was a handshake.

The mental image of Stephen Miller, Pete Hegseth, Kash Patel, RFK Jr, and Mike Johnson (among others) spontaneously combusting is so appealing that I feel compelled to ask you to stop teasing me with it.

I propose reenacting the melting Nazi scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark.

You are meddling with forces you do not understand …

I might actually find a reason to use AI just to be able to visualize that. So appealing.
Oh! Both of those. What a day popcorn, candy. I’d watch both scenarios over and over and over…

This video showed up in my YouTube feed, probably because I keep visiting this thread. Gave me a chuckle, it did:

  • White bread
  • Bologna Baloney
  • Russian dressing
  • Small pickle

Fixed that for you.

Just trying to change the station on a TV is probably doing this for Trump.

“How do I get to real news?”

'Tis a time-honored tradition:
