I have heard speculation of a stroke as well. Let me see if I can find an article.
Well, here is a non-paywall repeat of a Daily Beast article (not the greatest source, I know).
Speculation there is that when Trump talked about how much Aspirin he’s taking, it is actually not an unusual amount for someone trying to prevent a repeat stroke. I’m not sure if that’s particularly convincing, but that’s the speculation.
Nothing there about him being on the verge of dying or anything, though.
Snopes broke down the rumor that Trump only had 6-8 months to live.
That was about 5 months ago, so that would give him 1-3 months left. Maybe this recent rumor is piggybacking off of that. And as Snopes said:
In sum, the claim that Trump had six to eight months left to live wasn’t based on a clinical diagnosis or on the testimony of a physician familiar with the president’s medical status. As such, it is unfounded. The creator of the original video that sparked the rumor was not a medical doctor, as many posts claimed, but a self-identified physical therapist with a doctorate.
I wouldn’t put a lot of stock in that.

For a true believer, it doesn’t take much, really.
Multiple Administration weasels will write tell-all books and give paid speeches, explaining how they had to back Trump because Left Woke Madness would’ve been so much worse, but that they tried to restrain Trump’s craziness and saved the Republic by preventing disaster and should be rewarded and not indicted.
Remaining weasels will try to justify all they and he did and hope for a revival, like neo-Nazis and neo-Stalinists.
This is still the country that elected Obama for two terms. Plenty of decent people left to put the current garbage behind us.

What I fear is that it will be like a healed-over abscess. Looking good on the surface but sooner or later it will burst open worse than it was before. Trump didn’t create his followers he merely tapped into a reservoir of resentment that was already there.
They won’t disappear when he is gone and they are remarkably deficient on introspection so I highly doubt they will come to the conclusion that maybe, just maybe, they were wrong instead of wronged.
I certainly agree that absence of Trump is not enough. It is also true that, without Trump, the opposition is likely to shatter and scatter, making the perfect the enemy of the good, as has been their wont at least since Reagan.
I don’t suppose it has to be that way, only that that is the most likely outcome. The changes that would be required to uplift that reservoir into a better state are vast and slow to take effect. It would take many people of vision to lead us in that direction, instead of more insects squabbling for temporary influence or control. I don’t know where to find such people.

Thanks. I’ve been reading a lot of Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King lately. I think what our movement needs is a lot more focus on what brings us together and what we need to move forward. And a lot less of what went poorly in the past.
Trump’s hand looked something like raw beef that’s been sitting out too long during his photo op with Nicki Minaj (don’t ask me why, hell if I know) earlier today.
It doesn’t help that she looks like she’s ready to shred beef with those claws.
