Turkey Time MMP(Somebody's gotta do it!)

irked, came home. I’ve been a little down the last couple of days. I guess the “just friend” thing still hurts a bit.(I’ve had Patsy Cline songs going on in my head all day.) I’ve been chatting with Hockey Lady:), so I feel a bit better now.

Apes, I’m not impressed with Memphis BBQ in general.

Oh snap! Take it back :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, hell, you guys have that fine mustard based sauce.
Or is that South Carolina?

Thanks!

Never!

SC. I only eat vinegar sauced pig, like God intended.:stuck_out_tongue:

That’s SC

The Shack in LR had a vinegar based sauce. I have the recipe somewhere, but I digress. My point being, soon after rats were witnessed dragging a rack of ribs across the floor of the freezer, the Health Department shut them down.

Oh, I totally agree with that. That is they way my favorite place in Clarksville, TN made it. I do skip the over sweet BBQ sauce they serve here in Memphis, but the just off the pig BBQ meat with coleslaw and vinegar dressing on a bun is Heaven.

Evening all. I think I have slept 36 out of the last 48 hours and I feel better than I did yesterday but just not over this crap yet. Oh well a few more days and I will be back to normal.

There was a BBQ joint in my Mother’s hometown, Dyersburg Tennessee, called the Pit. She and I ate there several times when we visited her Mother.
When she was a child, Mother dated the rival of one of her suitors at the Pit.
The other guy had a friend who worked there, borrowed his apron and notepad, and took their order.
It was very good BBQ, better than Corky’s.

The Afterthought is popular, particularly when Clinton was in office.

Mrs. Plant v.3.0 and I like The Markham Street Grill and Pub.

River trips on the Arkansas Queen are interesting if the food isn’t outstanding, particularly if you go out on the deck and make out in the dark.

And if you are into the outdoors, climbing Mount Pinnacle is pretty cool.

So my daughter had to go to the Dr. today on a Saturday, which took about 2 hours sitting and waiting, because she has been complaining of irritation and burning in her girly parts. This has been going on for 2 weeks and was at first incorrectly diagnosed as a yeast infection. The female Dr. I took her to today says this is a very common irritation in little girls caused by detergents and soaps, and the best treatment for it is to do soaks in warm water and baking soda. She also said no soap whatsoever in that area. So I gave my daughter one soak this morning after the Dr. visit and my daughter proceeds to play with a bar of soap in the water. I was upset, but not angry and I explained to her that she cannot use soap anymore. That I would clean her everywhere else with soap, but in her sensitive area I would only use a clean cloth and warm water. She said she understood. Tonight we started her another baking soda bath and after letting her soak for 20 min I went in to clean her. She had decided to empty the entire rest of her bath wash into the tub. I was livid. She had already said she understood she couldn’t have bubble baths or soap anymore so I lost it this time. I got so angry. I pull her out of the tub without shampooing her hair or finishing her bath, gave her a spanking, and sent her to the bedroom to dry off and get dressed. I then had to leave the room and handed her off to my husband before I got any angrier and yelled at her anymore than I already had. She was crying of course, and her father lectured her on not listening and how her and her brother both have been pushing the limits lately and doing things over and over again that we have told them repeatedly not to do, like play in the knife drawer in the kitchen, jump off their top bunk, etc. I am at my wits end. She will not get better if she doesn’t listen to me, and I am afraid one or both of them are going to get hurt if they continue to do whatever they want despite our warnings and directions. I also feel like a horrible mom for yelling at her and giving her a spanking, but I am just so sick and tried of trying so hard to keep them safe and them just not getting it.

MrTao’s boys have a friend they play an FPS with whose screen name is Rainbow Waffles. That seems a perfect band name!!

(((April))) That’s gotta be SO frusterating!

It is. However, I realize my daughter is only 5 and is at the age to naturally push limits and test her parents constantly. I am extremely disappointed at my reaction, but also don’t know what else to do:(

{{{{Apes}}}} You’re doing your best, that’s enough.

Also, “your best” included recognizing you were approaching the limit and tagging out so your husband could take over, and it looks like he’s got it covered. Hang in there…

Good morning! Off to do stuff! More later! MWAH!!
