Turkey sandwich for lunch today. Mayo, cranberry, bird, stuffing, S&P. Man, I love 'em. Dinner was a small plate of stuffing with gravy, warmed.
Bought and cooked pumpkin yesterday, so today part of it will turn into pie, part of it put into the freezer for a pie later, and some to go in my morning müesli.
Weather forecast said something about the sun shining. It lied. Probably going to stay in today and sort papers and do some cleaning. I’d almost rather have below freezing temperatures if it means we get some blue sky.
All this talk of tea makes me think I should brew some. Sorry, just boring tea Ever so often I’ll get something interesting, but at the moment I just have the boring stuff.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 63 Amurrkin out and rainy(ish) with a predicted high of 71 and rain for today. Fine by me as we have no where we need to be. Inside and dry sounds like a good plan. I yanked a hunk o’ beast outta da freezer last night. I envision it becomin’ a pot roast for tomorrow’s N.O.L. or sup. A good ol’ pot roast sounds like it’d hit the spot. Sloth, however, shall rule the day today.
Quietly glad you had fun campin’. My idea of roughin’ it is a hotel without room service.

Good morning! I slept till 5:30!! Comfy, quiet, and no dog hogging my side. It was a good night. FCD is still abed, critters have been tended, and we’re back to our routine. Taz was super-needy last night - if I sat, he was on me. Ziva didn’t come out till late, and at the moment, she’s down the hall, yelling in front of the bedroom door, wanting to get under the bed. Big baby! 
All I’m gonna say about that is I’m glad I walked while there - at least that burned off some of the excess.
I swear, in the entire time in Ocala, I didn’t see a single fresh veggie on the table… oh, wait, we did have cabbage one evening, tho MIL tends to boil everything for-freekin’-evah!! Mostly, it was a mega-carb fest, what with bread, spuds, cookies, pie, candy… yeah, I gave up after the second day. Today, I need to go to Food Lion to restock my fridge and pantry, and it will include real food.
I forgot to mention - the vet called yesterday. The masses they took off Higgs were very early stage with clean edges, so essentially benign, and they got it all. We just need to keep an eye on any other mass that may pop up. And we have to call about her follow-up, since FCD has an appointment with her for Moanday, but the vet who called said the vet who did the surgery won’t be back till Firday. We’re confused.
I also need to call LaZBoy - supposedly our recliners are at the warehouse, but they never called me. We want our furniture, dammit!! Laundry will get done some time this weekend, and if all goes well, we’ll get most of the remaining leaves sucked up, mulched, and dumped. Fun times!!
Question: Any of you have any experience or knowledge of K-cup clubs? We’d like to get some deliveries to FCD’s folks, since they like coffee and they use the cups. The few I tried last night were less than impressive, tho I could have been because of the amount of traffic on the sites. If nothing else, I’ll just order a big box of assorted cups to arrive all at once.

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s wet and dreary here today, kind of suits my mood for the day. I should have been in Troon, doing some of this Winter Storm but instead I’m at home and everything for the foreseeable future is cancelled. Today is my mum’s birthday (she passed away in January) and I’m not quite sure what to do with myself. I might make a cake later, that will keep me occupied for a bit.
moooom glad to hear you got home safely and you had some good news about Higgs too. I haven’t been near the scales in ages and I don’t care to - I can see the damage I’ve done already, getting on the scales isn’t going to do me any favours 
Sounds like you all enjoyed your various T-Day doings, I am all in support of living on leftovers. I’ve got at least four lots of leftovers in the freezer which means I get a lazy no-cooking week at some point. Eventually I have to use them as I only have a small freezer and it fills up quickly.
As it’s afternoon already, I suppose I should try to do something productive instead of wasting time on the 'puter…
Forgot another bit of weirdness about my FIL - he ate the cranberry jelly (you know - the stuff that comes out of the can in a cylinder shape) like jello. It was in its own bowl and everything. I always thought the stuff was supposed to be sliced thin and layered on turkey (on a plate or a sammich) and used as a condiment. Not him, tho.
Has my life been that sheltered, or is this another case of FIL being a bit out there??
Yeah, I called her. Got sucked into an hour anna half on the phone, so I was up waaaay late (she’s on the west coast) and now I’m up for irk and none too happy about it.
I shouldn’t blame her, she was happy to chat. I’m just grumpy.
Off to sling drugs at the locals in a sec. Heard it was super busy yesterday. Frankly, I’m just glad to have a good reason to get outta the house.

I still have food leftover which shall be consumed today then that’s it. I am rather tired of it right now but shan’t waste all that food. I awoke yesterday with the worst hangover ever so no more drinking for a while. It took all day to get rid of the headache. I only drink beer.
You know I have never lived alone ever. Kind of strange. Thank goodness for my pets
Morning all. Survived the canine gas attack and got a good night’s sleep. Going to get out of the house here for a bit and go wandering, need to gas up car and do a braunsweiger run while I’m here. Been cooped up for three days with dogs and family and need a break. Usually take everyone out to eat but with COVID restrictions we’ll order in and I’ll pickup the tab.
FCM, our family always had the cranberry jelly as a side and not sliced, so not just your FIL. And good news for Higgs.

Nettie, with 5 dogs here, three of them over 80 lbs, even one second is a long time… And concur with long, hot showers, to break up the congestion.

Just back from Food Lion. We now have fruits and veggies and salad fixins and I scored a steak on the used meat pile, so I’m thinking steak and salad for supper tonight. Everything is stowed - it’s nice that my freezer has space, since I took so much stuff to FL.
I also stopped at the dollar store for ornaments. I ordered a 3’ pre-lit tree and I got shatterproof ornaments for Roxy to hang. The question is Taz - we’ve never had a Christmas tree here - how will he treat it?? We’ll find out at the end of the week when it gets here.
FCD took his car to the touchless carwash to get the road crud off its precious surface. When he gets home, I hope he’ll help me hook up the sucker so I can start de-leafing.

That’s good news about Higgs, Moooooom. As far as the cranberry jelly goes, it might be an Indiana thing, given that my dad and a couple of his brothers does / did the same thing.

butters, if you’re like me, you’ll get used to being by yourself. Shoot, I’m at the point that I think I prefer it. While it’s nice to have someone else around, it’s also nice to be the only human to consider when making decisions.
Up, caffeinating, towels and sheets in the wash and fixing to do KP. Sloth is on the agenda today (I just miiiiiiiiight put together the new chair for the studio) and a playdate at the dog park for Nelson and I to visit his buds and their humans.

At least my temperature was normalish this morning. Still clearing lots of yuck out of aching sinuses and throat/chest, though. I plan to do as little as possible today.
@FairyChatMom I’m with your FIL. I eat cranberry sauce on the side like a side dish with just about anything. I like the taste. I like the bit of sweetness especially with something salty like sausage. Never been to Indiana. So far, the cranberry sauce police have not discovered me, so y’all keep this to yourselves, ok? 
I have vacuumed up a bunch of cat hair. I emptied the dishwasher that I ran before we left last week. FCD took the dirty clothes downstairs and I’ve got a load of jeans in the washer.
Taz apparently decided to express his displeasure by peeing in my dirty clothes basket, but it was just this morning, so the smell shouldn’t be too set-in. Stoopit cat. Looks like I’ll be doing the laundry today after all. Which is fine - I just can’t get excited about dealing with the leaves.
Thel - no worries. I won’t report you. But I’ll secretly harbor a suspicion that you’re weird. Sorry, that’s the way it will have to be henceforth.

I actually preferred living alone, when I did, but those wimmin wouldn’t let me! They seemed to take it as a personal affront. If I had to do it now though, I don’t know how I’d do.
I don’t care about cranberry sauce one way or the other. Wifey brought a can over to the little house, but we forgot it was in the cupboard.
Nettie, have you tried a neti pot? It helps me when I have the occasional cold/sinus thing. Somehow it just seemed appropriate.
And just to toss more fuel on the fire; I love pineapple on pizza. 
Sometimes, when Papa Murphys has large pepperoni pizzas on ale, I’ll buy one and dump an entire (large) can of pineapple chunks on it before baking.
- I, too, enjoy cranberry sauce as a side dish on occasion.
- Pets can get you through all sorts of things. My cats are the reason I get up in the morning sometimes. Well, get up at that hour at least.
- I had forgotten how much fun that annual trip is, since we skipped the last couple for reasons.
- Out early today to get the car detailed and restock some groceries, mainly cat fud. Gorgeous day, which I am going to appreciate from inside as I get caught up on the week’s mail and chores.
- Pineapple belongs on pizza. Period.

I forgot to tell you what happened to me yesterday. I was n the basement trying to extract the long extension cord from behind a bunch of stuff and as I was backing out, I tripped and fell on my back on the concrete floor. I bloodied my left elbow and have a hellacious bump on the back of my head. Luckily, my SIL is an EMT and patched me up and examined me. We were worried about a concussion. But I survived.
I don’t know why I told you that.
