TV shows I missed. Should I give them a try?

The SDMB and in particular the regulars of Café Society, are responsible for my two latest tv addictions.

I came back to this board after a hiatus around may last year. Every other thread was about Buffy. Pftui, sneered I. Saw the movie. Kinda boring, even though the idea was fun. Would hold up for a tv show. But people kept writing and talking and disecting and arguing and finally I thought I’d give it a try.

Regulars will know me as the guy who, during the last season of Buffy, started threads about the current episode 32 hours before they aired in the US. Suffice to say, I didn’t turn into an idle fan of the show.

During the talk this past spring about stopry arcs, Babylon5 surfaced. Huh, thought I. Having catched the odd show on tv, thinking it was nothing special. People walking around on a space station, wearing rubber masks and talking all the time. And that awful Boxleitner in the lead. But the regulars of this forum were right the last time, so what the heck…

I suffer severe B5 withdrawal.

So now I turn to you guys again. A couple of shows that I’ve missed or that haven’t aired here yet raise my curiosity. And I turn to you guys to get the SD:

Roswell, Farscape, Taken, Stargate SG-1. Worth the trouble?

Farscape – definitely watch the first three seasons. The last season stunk worse than a dead skunk in a sewage plant, though. (To check it – if you see the old lady as part of the crew, run.)

Stargate SG-1 is deffinately worth your time.

And RealityChuck… while I may be persuaded to some slight slippage in the last season, it wern’t that bad (Rigel mugging the kids on Earth for Haloween candy was a howling on the floor moment.

Rigel(who’s been using this name long before the show…honest)

I hate Farscape (basically a very bad Muppets in space. They should have made a Swinetrek series instead), so my advice would be to check out the first few episodes and see if you like it…

I haven´t seen Taken, didn´t really get into Roswell and watch Stargate from time to time. Stargate is a decent show, not too taxing, not too exhausting, just good entertainment.
