Two and a 1/2 Men -Season Debut

Exactly. The writers went way overboard. Charlie skated by on his “knack” with women, his not-model-but-good-enough looks, his charm, his perfect (supposedly) technique, his not-too-ostentatious-but-pretty-good financial situation and his “slightly better than average” equipment.

Look at Kucher’s character - tall (taller than Charlie), handsome (handsomer than Charlie), WAY richer than Charlie, and “hung like an elephant”. What’s next - he’ll develop superpowers?

wiki on Judy Greer

She’s the one that tried to get all the Big Bang guys into a giant 4 way (Dr Elizabeth Plimpton). She’s also already been on 2.5 men (not that it matters, Chelsea was Jennifer Taylor’s 4th character on the show).

Does Jimmy Smits have a son? Because that would have been the perfect replacement for Sheen.

But until then, there was no indication whether Walden was talking about a wife or a girl friend. And he had that whole pathetic man-child thing going on - I see no reason to assume that he was lying at that point.

Judy Greer played Myra, Herb’s sister who had a brief fling with Charlie, and who IIRC happened to be engaged at the time. Having her continue that character would be a really interesting plot to follow - except that you’d expect Judith and Jake to have recognized Walden in that case. It would also make it easier to accept why he’d let Alan & Jake continue to live in the house.

They’re trying to counter his looks by the fact he has Asperger’s like social skills. Plus, Kutcher isn’t aging that well.

This was a copy of Designing Women’s last year.

Allison left Sugarbakers and pulled her money. Sugarbakers was broke
[Charlie leaves Alan and he’s broke]

In walks a new character BJ who was briefly married and now a rich widow
[Ashton walks in a new Internet billionaire and now rich]

Both the Ashton and BJ character were plain old folk, made rich by no efforts of their own. BJ by death and Ashton by MS buying him out.

BJ decides for no real reason other than pity to bail out Sugarbakers
[Ashton decides for no real reason to bail out Alan]

There’s a lot of creativity there huh?

Outside of the cameos which were great, and Conchata Ferrell, no one was funny.

I would love to see Conchata Ferrell get her own show in the future, she is so funny.

Also wasn’t the actress who played Dharma also on “Two and a Half Men,” earlier playing some kind of psycho woman? A different character than Dharma?

Yes, but that’s common on that show.

Also, that whole “I went to drown myself in the ocean, but it was too cold” was already used on the show at least once. I guess the writers are turning to recycling.

Yes. Apparently Walden’s ex-wife will be a recycled actress, too.

Creating a company that is bought by MS for $1.3 billion is pretty much the definition of getting rich by your own efforts.

Besides the Sheen tin can reference, notice that one of the three cans is knocked over.

And the “fat kid” is looking less fat this year. Maybe he’s been hanging out with Turtle.

Demi is a vampire, obviously.

I like her. She already guest starred on the show as Herb’s sister. I wonder if she will will wear her scarlet arachnid costume.

I thought they made a seamless transition. And they embraced the whole “hoopla” mess and wove it in in very funny ways. I think Ashton has a lot of comedic talent and I like Alan’s total ineptitude. The kid is not as “different” as a lot of parents would hope. And Berta’s just begun…

Jenna Elfman
Thomas Gibson
Joel Murphy
Jenny McCarthy
Missy Pyle

That’s who I caught. Who else was in it?

Maybe they should have introduced his character as a aged Kelso, who managed somehow to form a dot.com and get rich.

I saw

Jerri Ryan
Jennifer Taylor
Katherine LaNasa
Martin Mull

at the funeral.

That’d be awesome, if she continues as Myra. I liked her character. Wasn’t she engaged, when she slept with Charlie?

Myra hated Judith, Herb hates conflict, so it’s possible they never met Myra’s fiancee/husband. That connection could be fun, since we’ll need someone to hate Judith.

I do remember seeing Jerri Ryan. I don’t know who the other women are.

And I had no idea that was Martin Mull until I saw that episode. That’s one of my favorite characters on the show.

I’ve only seen the show in syndication and only a few eps there. A couple of questions:

1- Is Martin Mull a recurring character or was this a cameo?

2- In a couple of eps Alan is moving in with his girlfriend/his son’s friend’s mother. Obviously that fell through, but the show is shown out of sequence in syndication. Anyone know what happened?
