He’s been in several episodes. Not quite enough to count him as even a semi-regular.
The Courtney Thorne-Smith character? Alan accidentally burned her house down. She and her son had to move in with Charlie.

Katherine LaNasa was the realtor that Charlie was dating that reminded everyone but Charlie of his mother.
I couldn’t place the two actresses that claimed Charlie gave them herpes and vaginal warts. Herpes reminds me of the Witch Charlie was dating.
BTW, shouldn’t all the women at the wedding have been calling their OB-Gyn for an appointment? Actually they should have quarantined the whole county and started testing everybody.
BTW, I don’t remember seeing the pizza delivery guy at the funeral.
I had no love for 2 & 1/2 :o, but I find that I like the Kuchman.
Vaginal warts was Tricia Helfer, herpes was Jodi Lyn O’Keefe (yes, she was the witch who was terrified when she found out Evelyn was Charlie’s mother) and spanked while wearing her panties was Liz Vassey.
I enjoyed the episode. (I have all the available seasons on DVD, so I suppose that you could call me a big fan of the show.) The writing has suffered in the past few seasons, but I still like the characters. I intend to continue watching, to see how they develop the “Walden Schmidt” character.
Did Charlie & Rose actually get married, or did he just propose to her? If they were married, even for a day, she’d have some kind of involvement in the estate (likely getting at least part of the house instead of Alan getting everything). It would provide an excuse to keep her on as a recurring character though.
I don’t care how stupid his character is all long as he keeps getting naked. Demi Moore is so fucking lucky. I’m a little surprised they didn’t sneak in a gay joke when Judith & Jake walked in on him hugging Alan (Wow Alan, you can do alot better than I expected).
I dont think Alan’s paying anything to Kandi. She’s a succesful actress (on that crime show) and signed all her rights away the second she realized she could end up paying alimony to Alan. He’s just the butt monkey and a huge miser, cheapskate, and mooch when it comes to money.
They missed a golden opportunity to have Taylor sitting in several different places in differend dress & hairstyles during the funeral. Cue Gail (Tricia Helfer) looking around confused.
Yes, they supposedly got married. The whole “they got married, then she killed him” thing is ridiculous. They really couldn’t have found a better way to get rid of Charlie?
The whole Lorre/Sheen spat is ridiculous. Yes, there are giant egos involved, but money in Hollywood is supposed to trump that, isn’t it? Apart from paying the reported $25M to Sheen in a settlement, the show also is never going to be as popular as it was before.
I must have missed an episode or two - I don’t remember this at all.
Rose never said they got married in her eulogy. She said he proposed, and they were vacationing in Paris, but no one in that episode said Rose & Charlie were married.
Doesn’t the kid live with him? Why is he paying child support?
I’ve never watched a full episode of this show, and don’t really care for the bits & pieces I’ve seen, but sounds like I’ll need to catch a rerun or something of this episode to see the Dharma & Greg part.
The bits and pieces I’ve seen show that he lives with his dad only part time. He splits time at his mother’s house as well.
I am fan of the show, and I thought the writer did a good job with the transition. But if the episodes are going to be anything like the one last night, I will stop watching fast. It was terrible.
Totally concur. Jon Cryer is trying desperately, but even his weak bladder wasn’t worth a chuckle.
The writers are doing the best they can. The problem is Charlie Sheen was the load-bearing wall of the show. You remove it, the show is going to collapse, no matter how good the writers are.
Chuck Lorre’s ego killed the show. I think the man, in general, is brilliant. Nevertheless, in expelling Sheen he made a huge mistake. Of course, he won’t own up to it.
He may have saved Sheen’s life by firing him.
Hugh Grant could’ve handled it.
It’s not his job to “save Sheen’s life”. It’s his job to produce great sitcoms for my enjoyment.
I think that wall was going to collapse whether he got fired or not. Charlie Sheen was looking pretty bad list year.
I’m curious to see what they do with Judy Greer. She was the only endurable part of Mad Love. It might be interesting to make her relationship with Walden a focus of the show.
It looks like Melanie Lynskey is still a character on the show, but she is Rose anymore, but has a different name.
Nice “16 Candles” shout out, at least.
That’s nonsense; Charlie Sheen self-destructed. Ironically, though, he was only able to do so because of the vast amounts of money he made from this show. I don’t think he was nearly as rich before the series started.
The kid only lives with him 26 weeks out of the year, and even then only for a half-hour each week. He had a really bad divorce lawyer.
