"Ugly people are a better calibre of human", aka, ugly dating

Touche :dubious:

I don’t know how far back it goes, but there seems to be a trend over the past several decades of a sort of “role reversal” in what are considered positive and negative qualities. If you look at TV and film, often times good looking, athletic, financially successful people are painted as the villain. Douchebags, shallow, corrupt, entitled, overprivileged or bullies. OTOH, the “loser”, “nerd”, “outcast”, “screwup”, “underdog” or “everyman” is portrayed as more genuine. More heroic. More deserving of reward.

Personally, I think the worst message you can send is any story about the “plucky team of misfits and screwups who end up beating their better talented, better prepared rivals.”

Same thing with ugly people I suppose.

I’ve only ever been ugly. And I’m not dating. And I won’t paint with brushes this wide until turpentine comes down in price significantly.
