Oh, I’m crap at the complaining thing too, I’m good at disemboweling though…
really? bloody hell. remind me never to piss you off.
aye, workign in places like mortuaries and the London Dungeon generally tends to get you those sort of skills…
I rarely attack in anger… cold calculated violence is more my bag.
However, a few beers and I’m nice and mellow.
Excellent! Beer and Violence covered, shall we talk about sex now?
talk about sex???
but we’re british!
Is this happening? Could I come? Could my lurky/newbie flatmate(s) come?
Hurrah for Tir! Now it’s a proper UK Dopefest (well, nearly… Twisty will be sadly missed, although Tir has promised to try and work up a rant or two in his honour).
Hey, Tir, while you hook up with Twisty this weekend, could you maybe get a rant or two on tape and bring that along? How hard can it be? Get tape deck. Hold mic near Twisty. Place Guinness nearby. Say, “So, this war in Iraq. Not too bad was it?”. Stand well back and cover ears.
Hmm… Tir’s hair colour. I’m going to play safe, and predict day-glo green. And I think I speak for all of us when I say I’ll be very disappointed if it isn’t.
I hope Alex B is brushing up his intellectual discussion skills. I’m pretty sure I’ve got “Not listening! Not listening! Not listening!” down to a fine art.
Of course! The more ther merrier!
We will be in the Globe Pub in Maryleborne street (closest tube is Baker Street) from 12pm on Saturday, the plan then is to head down to Madam Tussadus for the Serial Killer exhibition at 1pm, or shortly afterwards, then back to the globe again.
If you’re not sure what time you’ll turn up, or for any update on possible evening pub moving, send an email to me at Kat2_uk@hotmail.com and I’ll give you my mobile number.
Hope to see you there!
Ianzin are you gonna be around tomorrow? Would be great to see you there!
ahhhh, jesus, drinking in the sun does my typing no favours…
That emaill address should have been Kat22_uk@hotmail.com
sorry!
and of course, coding and spelling should have been done correctly…
ah well, nevermind eh!
A mini-Dope at the Globe sounds fun. I’ll be the guy with the beard. (Tir – I’ll drop you a line about your number in case I miss the early drinking session.)
After settling the ailing spouse in front of the television with a bowl of chicken soup, a blanket, and the channel tuned to the Thunderbirds, I eventually dragged my procrastinating butt into the Globe around 3 pm, only to find a very small Doper contingent indeed, in the form of the ever-charming TwistofFate and his blonde bombshell babe Tir Tinuviel, fresh’y returned from their defeat at the hands of the Madame Tussaud’s queue.
Nevertheless, a good time was had by…well, at least by me, and I certainly hope by the other two. We managed three pubs (that’s one per person), including one with a tree inside (the stylish but overpacked Waxy O’Connors), as well as a brief pitstop at KFC. Tir demonstrated an astounding knowledge of pub fruit machines, jokes involving lepers, and what goes on behind the scenes at the London Dungeon, while Twisty was his usual entertaining self and also kept Tir from going postal on the Underground, which I greatly appreciated.
We went our separate ways at Leicester Square station after I discovered that London Underground had buggered up not only the southern part of the Northern Line but also the entire center section of the Piccadilly Line. Well done, lads. Fortunately their insidious agents hadn’t made it to Charing Cross Station yet, and I managed to catch a train going in vaguely the right direction.
So: a pleasure as always, John and Kat, and yaboo to the rest of you who failed to show up at all.
She’s blonde this week, then?
This afternoon, at least.
Aww, if I had seen this post yesterday I would have joined you, I am sorely in need of going out with some new people for a change. Will there be another MicroDope?
Sorry I missed the microfest yesterday, I woke up with a bad case of “can’t be bothered to shift my sorry arse”.
I’ll see you all next week, and if anybody is on the Virgin train that passes thru Reading and arrives in Brum at 12:45, I’m in coach ‘C’, seat 45A.
I booked my precious virgin train ticket yesterday. I’m on the 12:00 from Euston, so Garius, if you wanna meet up on the train I’m in Coach D, seat 27F.
Rar!
Aye, still blonde… couple of days with the same hair colour! This must be a new record!
Jr8, it’s not my fault someone stuck pretty yellow dots on everything! I was just appreciating them in the only way I knew how!
SciFiSam, I’m pretty sure there will be more drinkies fairly soon! Send me an email (address in profile) so I got your addy, and I’ll drop you a line in case you miss anything on the boards.
Train tickets arrived, 11am from Euston. Coach B seat 20B apparently. Does anyone know if we are allowed to wander arround on the train? Or do we have to stay put?
You can wander around all you like (so long as this wandering is not an attempt at fare evasion).
Besides, Tir, even if anyone tried to stop you… one flash of the teeth and I reckon they’d pretty well let you wander wherever you wanted to!
Surely not still blonde by Saturday?
I dunno… been blonde for a while now… I feel a change coming on…
I’m lobbying for pillarbox red.
You do all realise that whatever colours you lot name here are gonna be crossed off my list just so I can surprise you all!
(or maybe the wont, cunning double-bluff, eh?)
heeeeee!
