Going into a wheelchair myself was a very difficult step, you sister changed my outlook and really helped me see the good side of the whole situation.
I would also like to send flowers or donate or whatever she would have wanted.
I’m another one who didn’t participate in the thread but read every word, and marveled at umkay’s wit and spirit. What a terrible loss.

Notokay thank you for telling us. For what your family is going through, I am so so sorry. I can’t believe we got to share a small part of her spirit and now she’s gone.
She had a big impact here - I know we’re just a message board but she really moved us.

This thread has been the most entertaining, informative and interesting I’ve ever read on any forum anywhere and it saddens me greatly to hear this news. I imagine anyone who takes the time to read this thread would feel a sincere sense of grief, even if they never interacted in it.

I am very sad to hear this. I am also surprised to hear that umkay had a sister. I remember her mentioning her parents and her four brothers but no sister (see post 85 in this thread). I guess this gives me a tiny bit of hope that it is in fact a hoax.
Notokay doesn’t state gender. I assumed he was one of her brothers.

NotOkay - I just want to preemptively clarify something since I know you are not a regular poster to the forum. This new thread may be in a forum section called “Mundane Pointless Stuff I Must Share” but it is not to say that this is a mundane or pointless thing to split off…it’s just the forum where news about our lives goes. There have been new people who have been offended by a forum change to this forum, and I wanted to let you know that this is not how the Dope feels about this news.
I am still stunned by the news, and I’m so sad…she really made a huge impact to those of us on the board in such a short time here.
I will miss her as well. She seemed like the kind of person who brought a lot of joy to a lot of people - internet and off.
