I wouldn’t have believed it, but there’s a real chance the 6th Congressional District in Kentucky (where I live) may flip to Democratic in November.
The incumbent turd, Republican Andy Barr, is running for McConnell’s Senate seat. In the race to replace him in the House, Republican Ralph Alvarado and Democrat Zach Dembo are in a dead heat in new polls (one has them each with 47% support).
Alvarado, a physician, is reportedly being hurt by Trump’s declining popularity and by his being a former running mate of ex-Governor Bevin, who’s been enmeshed in scandal.
*Alvarado if elected would continue a G.O.P. tradition of doctor politicos betraying their profession. He is against mandatory vaccination, and at a rally answered a question about vaccines supposedly killing a lot of people by saying it was a matter of “debate”.
This happens all the time. In fact to keep things apart, a SuperPAC is prohibited from consulting with a candidate’s official campaign regarding ad content, or strategy.
They not only do NOT ask permission, they can not ask permission. This is what PACs and SuperPacs do, and have been doing. Nearly every major campaign uses PACs
That is true. But it is the Law, and she is a rather new Dem Politician.

I’m also in this district. In a case like this, I go with the endorsement of the California Teachers Association (there are a lot of teachers in my family), and they endorse Wahab.
It seems as if license revocation generally depends on more than just spreading or enabling antivaccine nonsense. Docs have lost licenses over granting improper vaccine exemptions, notably in California, though one doc who allegedly made $180,000 from selling them still has her license.
A notoriously antivax pediatrician, Paul Thomas lost his license for reasons including gross negligence in the practice of medicine.
Others, including well-known antivaxers like Drs. Pierre Kory and Peter McCullough have had their specialty board certifications revoked. Kory has claimed you can get sick through “shedding” by having sex with a Covid-vaccinated person.
*Alvarado, who’s running for Congress in KY’s 6th District, has an unspecified “prior action” listed online by the KY medical board, and supposedly was investigated in connection with a situation regarding Medicare payments.
New poll has Poindexter up by 14 points over Max MIller in OH-07. Not sure who co/efficient (the pollster) is; can’t recall ever hearing of them before.
And the reports say he will continue to have the support of the state party.
Republican National Committee Chair Joe Gruters, in an interview on NewsNation on Sunday, indicated Miller would continue to receive the backing of the national party.
“We’re going to support our nominees,” Gruters said.

In my western Wisconsin district, Rebecca Cooke beat Emily Berge for the Dem to face Republican incumbent Derrick Van Orden. Despite being endorsed by Bernie Sanders, Cooke is seen as the more moderate, establishment choice.
Meanwhile, in the governor race, Hong (more leftist, though not quite as much as some have portrayed her) is neck-and-neck with the more establishment/moderate choice, Crowley. We might not know the result for several hours. Hong might pull out a victory because of absentee ballots still to be counted, many of those ballots filled out weeks ago, when the field of candidates was more crowded.
Your guess is as good as mine. That Sept 25 looks like the deadline if the race comes down to a one vote difference and there are three dubious provisional ballots. Once the outcome is a logical certainty it seems sort of silly to wait. Ballots still have until next Tuesday to arrive in the mail.
Te Brown, who is under Federal indictment for wire fraud, ran in and lost the Democratic primary in the 11th District of Illinois earlier this year. She subsequently moved to Florida and was “elected” by virtue of being the only candidate to the ballot to be the Democratic candidate in the 24th District of Florida. When contacted by a reporter, she denied being the same person as the Illinois candidate/defendant, and when confronted with evidence to the contrary, asked the reporter if he was a cop and then hung up.

She’s a Black woman who decided to go full MAGA and declared herself a victim of the woke mob right after she got indicted, obviously in an attempt to fool the dotard-in-chief into pardoning her. That part makes sense, but I don’t understand the part of the plan where you then pretend to not in fact be the person under indictment. Well, obviously she has about as much chance of winning as you’d expect in a district where no real Republican even bothered to file, or probably even less than that.
