"V" Pilot Tonight — [Open Spoilers after it airs]

Well, in the early stages when the Visitors are still pretending to be our friends they’d have to comply with a request to move their ships just to keep up appearances. Anna would say something like “Of course we’d be happy to move out ship if that’s what you want Mr President. By the way he hope to make arrangments for a dinner in your honour on out mothership some time in the future.”

But again, the V’s have agents everywhere in all levels of government. How do we know the President isn’t already one of them? That would explain the whole birth certificate inconsistencies.

I thought that looked like him. Watching the recording now.

I might change my sig.

“Rattlesnakes are God’s creatures too.”

I recognized Wash right away, but I can’t believe I did not recognize Inara. Didn’t even know until I read your post.

As an aside, why am I so excited about Firefly alumni? I love Castle too. I think there is something wrong with me.

The most awesome moment was when Jesus tried to take out the guy in the wheelchair.

Scott Wolf still looks like he’s in high school.

I totally did not foresee Wash-lizard.

Overall, I was hoping for better. I’ll keep watching for a while to see if it improves.

Anna’s haircut reminds me of Kira Nerys from DS9. It would’ve been an inspired bit of casting if they could have landed that actress to play a Visitor. Perhaps a role as someone’s grandmother?

It’d be neat to see Marc Singer as a Visitor. One with ultratight pants of course.

A damn shame he bought the farm first night out with a nomiker like that.

Weren’t we all? I just hope that at the end God didn’t do it. Makes you wonder about Jesus trying to take out the guy in the wheel chair, unless that was a homage to Gone With the Wind.

Sir or Madame, you are forgetting Beastmaster.

That’s concrete proof (or is it Plaster-of-Paris proof?..) of the dangers of organized religion, religious icons teetering precariously overhead, waiting to squish people below…

Double-tap, bitch! Didn’t you learn anything at Quantico?

WWJD? Take out the gimp.

Jesus got busted up real good too, but later he was gone. I’m guessing he made communion.

I’d sign up with some Peace Ambassadors just to hit that.

Is Morena Baccarin the one playing Anna?

vivalostwages, yes. As an “Anna” myself, it’s awesome to have an actress that pretty playing someone with my name.

My thought: “Gee, it’s nice to see that these aliens haven’t destroyed Big Ben, even if they are evil and plotting.”

Later, when Erica’s son and his friend were in line to visit the V’s ship, there was a girl right behind them who looked an awful lot like the upcoming 11th Doctor’s companion (Amy) and I started getting fan fic ideas. And I don’t even write fic.

But was the graffiti that meant hope part of the original? I think that was definitely a nod to this.

As lame as the orange jumpsuits and wrap-around glasses were, at least it was easy to tell the aliens from the people in the mini-series. Isn’t having them all look and sound just like us going to get confusing?

I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to watch the full episode, but I’m just watching the 8-minute preview on Hulu and I’ve got to say that the stupid is prevalent.

  1. There’s an earthquake, hence everyone runs to the window/roof and looks up? Why?
  2. 10 seconds after the earthquake, the military is in the street, managing people. When the hell were they called in?
  3. There’s a barricade to stop people from going into a particular area. Yet…the number of regular civilians is just as populous on the far side of the barricade.

I’m wondering how they made that giant spaceship microwave-transparent.

Or did I miss the part where all of New York and LA lost their satellite TV and all the network uplinks were blacked-out?

Maybe that’s what all the protests were about.

I liked it. For a pilot, it was quite good - they set everything up pretty efficiently.

A lot of the stupid stuff didn’t bother me. Hot aliens arriving over all our major cities didn’t bother me. You know what bothered me? How did wheelchair guy get to the top of all those church steps?!

The other thing was the reporter gushing over how gorgeous all the Visitors are, when the ugly second-in-command guy was standing right there. Maybe my hawtness meter is miscalibrated, but he seemed at best average to me.

On the other hand, Alan is looking fiiiine. Kept the buff from Dollhouse, and he does evil really well. Morris Chestnut is no slouch either. Between them, Morena, and Elizabeth, there is no lack of eye candy in this.
