Humanoid lizard from another star? That’s believable.
Walking around with a slick coating of human skin & no one can tell? I’ll buy it.
To the point that they’ve infilitrated the FBI and other givernement jobs that require things like medical exams, urine tests, etc? No problemo!
Massive city-cized space ship spits in gravitys eye? Gotcha!
Insterllar travel? Hey, they’re ALIENS, of course they can do it!
But…but…but - The TVs not out??? Now wait just a damn minute!!
Exactly. Also in the movie they mentioned the ships were a big tourist draw, so the city governments probably didn’t mind them hovering overhead seeing as how they were providing a boom in a down economy.
Please help me…I think the guy who played Erica’s partner (actually a V in disguise) played Watt in A Knight’s Tale. It took me a second because he didn’t have red hair and an English accent, but the eyes are the same. Off to IMDB…
Wow, I was right. Alan Tudyk was born in Texas. I thought he was British. Huh.
I dunno, I’d be a bit miffed if I had this huge thing blocking out the sun for weeks on end. I mean, cripes, all my plants would die. Can’t they move the things around a little?
I wondered about that too, but there was a fighter jet that crashed mere moments before. I’d guess they were trying to keep folks away from that area, which was already pretty populated.
I kind of liked it, but I found myself hoping for a 2 hour first episode. I just didn’t feel the magnitude of everything that the original gave you in the beginning.
Acting & clunk dialogue criticism aside, (and there’s lot’s of that to go around) Morena Baccarin was awesome. I may have low expectations, but I’m on board.
Pass. After sleeping on it, I’ve decided that Inara and Wash aren’t enough to get me past the stupid, inane and lazy. I have the original on DVD, so I can always watch that and remember what good cheesy TV SciFi is. I don’t think it will come back from hiatus.
You just know there’s a group of hairy chested gold chain wearing men betting who will be the first to tap that alien bootie. And a group of desperate housewives plotting the same.
The scheduling for this show sucks. I read somewhere that there will be four episodes shown this month, then we have to wait until March 2010 to get the rest of the 13 episodes for the season.
I thought the pilot was badly rushed - they should have taken two or three hours to set this up. Otherwise it wasn’t quite as bad as I was expecting.
Yes, he played Watt (I love that movie). But he’s more famous (around here, anyway) for playing a character named Wash on the short-lived TV show Firefly. Hence the references above to “Wash-lizard”. The actress who plays Anna was also on Firefly.
Everytime I saw him in a scene, I kept thinking he looked like Kevin McKidd (Lucius Vorenus in Rome, the titular Journeyman). And I was waiting for Hugo to come around the corner with a funny line while Juliet, I mean Erica, was in a scene.
Guess this means no Juliet on Lost this year…I guess that atomic bomb was big enough to kill at least one character…
