If this is true, do you know of any way I can send a thank you note…maybe even flowers?
IIRC, there was a quick shot in Winterfell where Tormund was giving Brienne a speculative look and she was having none of it. Maybe he’ll catch her on the rebound after Jamie bites it.
Cool. Every party needs a Paladin and a Barbarian.
It’s a really well-done trailer. Maximum hype with hardly anything given away. I’m pretty sure Jaime is going to die, and a little part of me will too. While I don’t think it’s likely, I would love to see him kill the Night King and earn the Kingslayer name as something to be worn with pride.
since Arya can now pretend to be anyone (like she did as Walder Frey) they could just have her pretend to be Jamie and kill Cersei. But maybe that’s too obvious so they won’t do it.
I think she has to get the person’s face (i.e. she has to kill them) for it to work. At least that’s how I interpreted it – she didn’t become Walder until after she’d killed him.
The Mountain kills Qyburn.
The Hound kills the Mountain.
Reek kills Theon.
The Cheese stands alone.
Well, Jaqen did have Arya’s face in the house of black and white. And the Waif had Jaqen’s without removing it. I don’t think the show is too consistent with this, but I would lean toward your interpretation that she’s not just able to be anyone.
Quote from the trailer: Death has many faces. I look forward to seeing this one.
Some foreshadowing there?
Is anyone up for this Game of Thrones pool if I try to find a way to set it up and run it?
Edited: Free, no money involved.
Looks like Pod made it as far as the Final Showdown. He has been one of my favorite secondary characters. Whatever happened to Edd from Castle Black? I just watched S7 over the last week and I don’t think he was in it at all. Didn’t see Bronn in the new trailer, either.
If a character from the list is not mentioned in S8 are they assumed alive? I’m wondering about Dario Naharis. Though he was last seen alive I wonder if the writers will just forget about him.
Edd is in the trailer. With the Beric and Tormund in a dark tunnel.
Apparently Kit Harrington was on Stephen Colbert last night and said that season 8 will have the longest battle sequence ever committed to film.
Boxed just in case: the big battle is supposedly in episode
3
He was in episode one. He talked to Bran and Meera when they arrived at the wall.
I’m not sure if that’s a good thing. Given all the threads still open, it’s already seemed to me that it’s gonna be a tight fit to get a satisfying resolution in the remaining episodes; with more time devoted to showing bits chopped off of people, that seems to just get tighter. (Then again, a long battle might serve to resolve a lot of dangling plot lines by literally cutting them off, but I’m not sure if that’s the resolution I want…)
Which probably means (speculation)
The good guys lose the Battle of Winterfell. They won’t resolve the war with the Night King so early.
Yeah, especially after last season I’m skeptical that they can artfully navigate the rest of the story in such a short period of time. Especially if they dedicate close to an hour of the ~6 hours they have left to one battle.
There’s only six episodes. Are they at least 90 minutes long?
I’ve seen speculation that Arya is running in fear because she’s being chased by someone she knows… who is now a White Walker. Edd’s head is gone, so it can’t be him. Is Lady Stoneheart coming back?
