The Hedge Knight would make a pretty decent stand alone movie.
Yeah, I think so, too.

“Starbucks” is funnier than “Generic coffee shop” though.
GRRM has said that he wants to keep that one to tell himself. Robert’s Rebellion is also out because it already has a known conclusion. I hope Dance of Dragons makes it. It’s basically the Anarchy with dragons.
GRRM said on his Not A Blog there were five projects in development with HBO and now it’s down to 3 and said one was The Long Night, but he’s not supposed to say that.
I like Dunk and Egg too much to see it as a show RIGHT NOW. Like the novels, I want to see them finished first in print rather than on screen and unless he pulls a Beyonce on us in the next 13 days, I’m not going to get my novels wish.
The Dunk and Egg stories end with the tragedy at Summerhall, so while it might be a fairly standard story the ending is “and then everyone dies horrifically”, which might be more of a shock without desensitizing people first.
Frankly, I am hoping they stick to The Long Night only.
Far more interesting than Targy retreads.
As Cecil of House Adams taught us using the example of General Mills and cornflakes.
To paraphrase Runyon’s Law, The race is not always to the swift nor the coffee to be Starbucks, but that’s the way to bet.
My theory has always been the eggs there are Danys. So in some sense Duncan is correct in that he did have a destiny.
I think it was implied heavily in Fire and Blood that the three eggs were not from there.
It could be a red herring, but three eggs end up where Illyrio eventually lives…
Maybe they accidentally woke the Others. Maybe Duncan kept them from manifesting in Summerhall but they woke up past the Wall.

Now that the episode has aired : were the leaks real of fake?
Real. I believe the whole episode was leaked.
My son just pointed out that the actress who plays Yara Greyjoy is playing a very different character in the HBO miniseries Gentleman Jack:
You can hear and see her in the first ten seconds of this trailer, and several other times later: GENTLEMAN JACK Official Trailer (HD) Jessica Baglow HBO Series - YouTube
Not sure if this has been linked. Here it is again.
Ramin Djawadi is a genius.
And now my watch has ended. I cancelled HBO Now. With the free week I only paid for one month. In addition to GoT I watched the first season of Westworld (yes, I’d like to watch the second season, but I’m sticking with my conviction to cancelling after GoT ends)
Brian
The second season is not very good, imo.
I’ve heard Barry is great though, so I might try to binge that before my subscription is up.
