Could be. We’ve already seen a zombie Ice Bear. Maybe some zombie mammoths could help take down the walls of Winterfell. (Though when you have a zombie dragon that might not be necessary.)
He didn’t die off screen at all. His agony and death are detailed in the books (it took him a couple days to die). Even how the body will be disposed of is mentioned.
My wild-ass prediction on how it all ends. Once the Song of Fire and Ice was born (Jon), the Night King’s watch ended. He needs to put Jon in the middle of that pinwheel so he can go on to his reward. Jon will sacrifice everything to save whatever is left of the human population, becoming the new Night King for eons.
Wow. That’s pretty bleak.
Well, this is Game of Thrones. To paraphrase: If you’re expecting a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention!
Adding to my theory-- at first I thought that Dany and Jon’s baby would be The Prince that was Promised, but I don’t think humanity will last 9 months after the dead attack in earnest.

George R.R. Martin Gives a Quick Update on the Game of Thrones Spinoffs
It makes me wonder if any of the spinoffs will try to replicate seasons 1-4 or if they’ll all replicate the later seasons.
The show has gone from a smart, subversive, realistic fantasy series to a paint by number standard fantasy series. The fact that only about 25% of the viewers even seem to realize this and the rest love the way it is now and don’t even understand what else it once was makes me wonder if the other series will basically be dumbed down from the start.
I don’t know. It really depends on whether we get showrunners that have some balls and a vision, or if we’re just going to milk this game of thrones thing like it’s the marvel cinematic universe. I’m not that optimistic.
As I said on the other thread, when you watch a TV show then you should expect it’s going to be pretty similar to other shows ,not a book. Martin abandoned the story and gave it over to HBO so you get the standard type of show HBO does. Maybe Martin will be more involved in these other shows or maybe he’s just going to cash some fat paychecks. I would vote for the latter being way more likely.
The Marvel cinematic universe has plenty of balls and vision to go along with amazing writers and a showrunners. This is closer to the DC universe, they just don’t get it.
Yeah, the MCU was probably a bad comparison. I find comic book movies generally bland and uninteresting but there’s nothing particularly bad bout the MCU and I shouldn’t have really made that comparison.
I guess I just sort of mean, uh, unsubversive. Just the standard normal stories we see in popular entertainment. A standard fantasy series in the GoT world.
The GOT producers/creators were pretty much unknown before the show. I guess they must have done a hell of an interview or presentation to HBO to get hired.
Oh man, having just read about the leaks in episode 4 I can’t wait for the firestorm to erupt.
The Mother of Dragons likes her Starbucks: Sharp-Eyed ‘Game Of Thrones’ Viewers Just Spotted A HUGE Mistake | HuffPost Entertainment
If one of the spinoffs is Dunk and Egg, that’s a fairly standard story without much, if any, subversion of tropes. So people could be disappointed in that.
You mean Starkbucks.
To nitpick, I know people are calling it a “Starbuck’s cup” but I don’t think you can see a logo and it could be a generic coffee cup. Still, not likely to be at Winterfell.
I enjoyed the D&E short stories and think they’d lend themselves well to a series. It does subvert some tropes, esp. the inherent nobility of a knight-errant’s work. And you could have plenty of in-jokes and foreshadowings of GOT, so that would be a plus.
