But you don’t know for sure.
I don’t know what is more improbable: that he murdered one or several Thai women in addition to the ones we know about OR that he’s gotten caught the only two times he’d ever killed someone.

ZOMBIE
Just an update to say that van der Sloot got 28 years in prison. He pleaded guilty on all charges and thus had his sentence reduced from 30 to 28.
He might get the Peruvian equivalent of parole in 9 years’ time.
I saw that Natalee Holloway was just declared legally dead.
Can the Peruvian Police beat you with a stick or hook you up to the Tucker Telephone until you fess up?
Or he might get the Peruvian equivalent of an accidental death while in custody, considering that he killed a rich Peruvian man’s daughter.
“Damn. He slipped on a bar of soap in the shower, and hit his head. Seventeen times.”
As nice as the whole “soap incident” may sound, it is basically imposible (and not for moral or legal reasons only): He’s too high profile.
The victim’s dad is not a particualrly rich man, he’s more famous than rich. Also, in Peruvian prisons, money goes a very long way. Just yesterday it was shown that he had a smartphone, LCD TV and blu-ray player in his prison cell. He has been moved to a high-security prison, where (it pains me to say) it will be more expensive to get this stuff, but not impossible (he will need to way a couple of monsth until things cool off). To get an idea of how bad this thing is, there was a case 3 or 4 years ago where a group of prisoners hired a salsa band, scantily-clad dancers and beer for a celebration inside the prison.
BTW, who is this Mary Hamer woman who sends v.d. Sloot money and support. is she famous in the US?
Tell that to Jeffrey Dahlmer.
The thing is that rapists, particualrly if they target kids, are the lowest tier in the criminals’ ranking.
In the last couple of years there were two cases of convicted child rapists that killed themselves (really, it wasn’t “suicide”) instead of getting the welcome they knew was coming.
