Just to clarify something, in the Peter R de Vries hidden camera operation he never admits to killing her. He said she was drunk and started seizing and shaking and then stopped and ‘was dead’. Patrick van der Eem then continues to ask how he knew that for sure (did he check vitals?) and Joran doesn’t really answer.
Don’t get me wrong, this guy is a creep and has shown that he is quite capable of ‘playing’ the system and the media (since the hidden camera thing he has told numerous stories about what happened that can be verified to be false, as to leave an impression of instability; you never know if he’s lying or not), but his ‘confession’ pictures him as a guy out for some puntang, that gets in a bad situation which he handles even worse. There is some speculation on whether he might have Slipped Nataly Holloway some drugs which made him decide to ‘get rid’ of the body, but again no evidence. Anyhow he has never said he killed her.
As for the new thing, we will see what happens. There is a warrant, he isn’t convicted yet.
Remember the Natalee Holloway case, the girl who, in a holiday resort, left a club with charming Dutch boy Joran van der Sloot, and was never seen alive again?
Well, the scumbag Joran van der Sloot now is a murder suspect in another, very similar case.
That is not all. Van der sloot has apparently been partying his way around the world ever since Aruba failed to detain him. In 2008, in Thailand, he showed himself willing to partake in a human trafficking scheme.
I hope Peruvian lawyers finally find a way to detain this slick psychopath, lock him in the worst Lima jail they can find, and throw away the key.
Well, except there is a body and that it is clear that the girl was killed either by a knife or a blunt object (reports differ). These were some crucial thing missing in the Holloway case.
It’s also nice that the dutch officials have said they will not be asking for extradition, so if he is convicted he’ll have to do his sentence in the luxuory of Peru’s penitantiary system

What puzzles me about this guy is that he is such an attention whore. That’s not SOP for serial killers right? But here is his facebook profile. He also has a Hyves profile, the Dutch facebook. After the Holloway case, he kept putting up pictures of himself clubbing with girls on his arm.
And I imagine that the Peruvians in said prison wont take too kindly to the rich white foreigner rolling into their country and murdering a Peruvian woman.

Aside from feeling sympathy for the latest victim’s family, I feel terrible for Holloway’s family. How they must be feeling right now… They tried and tried to get this little shit locked up, struggled to keep the case alive… and now he’s killed someone else’s daughter.
Last I heard, Natalee Holloway’s mother was getting romantic with Jon Benet Ramsey’s dad, but that was a few years ago and I never heard how that was going.
I do wonder how Holloway’s family is doing though? Devastated that he’s killed again? Or renewed hope for justice for Natalee?
I’m sure we’ll have the answers to all these questions [via Nancy Grace] by the end of the week. Ugh.

I’d hate to be this kid’s mom or dad. I can’t imagine how it would feel knowing you raised what ended up being a monster.

Van der Sloot has been apprehended now (sez CNN).
Happy Poster, I don’t think Joran is the subject of unfair media attention; there is definitely some very serious reasons to suspect him in both the Holloway case (although, as football says, he never admitted to killing her even when quizzed on hidden camera) and in this case. Sure enough, he has been given a lot of attention, but he has not exactly kept a low profile (there’s no indication he has anything to do with the fb profile Maastricht links to, though). As an example, he appeared on a main Dutch talk show to face Peter R. de Vries (the journalist who ran the hidden camera thing and who had devoted a lot attention to him prior to gaining this footage), after which he proceeded to empty a glass of red wine in De Vries’s face (now that’s a sting operation!). The hidden camera footage revealed a guy who is entirely self-absorbed, with no compassion or regard for anyone but himself, and some serious entitlement issues, and who sees himself as being wronged in any number of ways throughout this entire affair. Quite the character.
CNN says he has been arrested.
